Yeah. Morgans back was pretty fucked for the end of the season, so even if it werent the intention he'll cover Wes a fair bit, but I think he'll get at least as much play time as our current captain. Still want another young cb.

Can't see Ronaldo leaving, could definitely see PSG paying crazy money for him though. Especially since he's the best player in the world, even at 32 there doesn't seem to be any decline coming soon.

Ronaldo isn't even close to Messi anymore.

Are people really still debating this?

Which still leaves the issue that nobody will want to pay what Real will ask. So he'll have to run down his 400k a week until 2021. You can't help but feel for him can you.

Isn't there a new ruling now that transfer fees over a certain value are doubled with that money going to the community? So 100mill costs the club 200?

When it comes to Ronaldo I doubt they'd flinch at that, don't think Ronaldo would want to go to China anyway he's got far too much to offer still at top level football. He's probably gonna have a little moan and in a few weeks he'll be fine.

No buts thats an amount I made up for an example. If Real say 500mill, well it's a billion then (also an example).
Thats if that rule came into place at all. I know it was being talked about, dont know if it came to fruition.

Pep knows what he's getting.
Hopefully nothing shit happens like him getting injured in his opening games. Would be good to see him do a full stint.

Based on his performances for Juventus in the CL last season he'd still be a good signing for City. Any reason he only started 15 league games last season though?

He was superb at Juve last year and I'm surprised they're letting him go. Would be great seeing Dani Alves in the PL. Just a pity this makes City even stronger.

Alves is a different calibre of player to Maicon though. Maicon was great during his peak then fell off massively, Alves has been great for 15 years straight. WiIl be an excellent signing for the bigger games, I wouldn't expect him to play every week though.

I reckon they'll still look to add Walker for that English quota. It's just whether he wants to sit on City's bench (for a lot more money) for a year now.

Remember when City signed Maicon...

You both make good points. At the age of 34, like with Maicon, the decline can come very quickly. As in, Alves should be good for another year considering his quality over the past 12 months but there certainly is no guarantee. Which is why it's £5M and not £20M.

It should be a good signing but it's stop gap at best. He'll be outperformed by both Walker and Clyne imo.

So 8 years ago he hadn't heard of Man City. Not a huge surprise really is it?

We're improving on our 10mill bid for Jonny Evans.
I dont mind him but at 29 I'd rather pass up on him and target younger players.
