Looks like we might be getting Chalobah - would be a young exciting signing like Will Hughes.

Guess the only danger is they don't live up to the expectation but 5 million doesn't seem like too much of a risk.

A Spanish journalist thinks Costa is going to sign for Atletico anyway and wait there for 6 months.

The idea is hes loaned to a Chinese side until Atletico are eligible to take him.
Think it'll go nowhere. Atleti wont offer enough.

Knowing you, you're starting to find a reason to not like the transfer already. Please share.

Twenty-four years old, PL proven, Jose's type of striker.

I think it's a good move.

Urgh. Utd signing a proven prem striker with room for massive improvement. Urgh.

Wow! Thought him going back to Chelsea was basically a done deal. Delighted with that.

The ultimate dream of buying Kane is now dead for the foreseeable future.

Just to quell the excitement a little.

It might not be completely done and dusted yet. Jim White (I don't know his record at all to be honest) says it's not done, nothing agreed. Here's hoping but it would be really cool if Conte resigns and Chelsea collapse again.

So long as the BBC are running with it, it's pretty much confirmed.

Jim White works for SSN and SSN are also reporting the story.

It might just be a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's and getting the Rooney deal done in tandem with this one.

Chelsea will 100% have a sell on percentage on Lukaku. So if you put Rooney in the deal, he will be valued (which is by definition overvalued) which will mean Chelsea are owed more. So the two deals are likely separate.

I don't think that the deals are linked in that way - just that it makes sense for both teams to get them both done while we are already in contact with and dealing with each other, for the sake of speed and efficiency.

BBC Sport don't often jump the gun, so I will be incredibly disappointed if this falls through and United are left chasing Morata again. The disappointment doubled by the false hope inspired by these reports. Please let this go through.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Having watched Lukaku in the flesh up close a few times, I've seen how at times he looks unstoppable, near impossible to defend against with his combination of pace, strength, and clever diagonal runs across the front line. I've also seen entire games pass him by with barely a touch of the ball, completely disinterested and anonymous. For 75m, you might want more consistent quality I feel. But there's no reason United and Mourinho couldn't work on that, it's easy to forget that Lukaku is only 24 still.

However he's a completely different forward to whom they built their attack around last season in Ibrahimovic, and it'll likely mean Rashford gets shoved out wide more often too. A mixed bag!

Meanwhile RB Leipzig have smashed the Keita deal to pieces on Twitter.

It was fun while it lasted.

Jim White is apparently the new Everton owner's mouthpiece and all the briefings to the BBC etc. that it's a done deal are from United. Everton are saying no offer has been accepted. If this is some sort of ploy to get Madrid to hurry up on Morata then football, bloody hell.

Following transfer windows on twitter isn't good.
