Pompey have brought their own ref with them ( yet again ), just how do they manage that?
To be fair I think the ref was just guessing most of the match. Didn't think your goal was over. Lino had no clue neither did the ref. Seen reds given for the challenge by Gibbons. He's an awful ref in general. But don't think he was bias either way, just rubbish. Def a pen, 2nd not offside. Lowery should have been for pulling your man's shirt in the first half. Morrison is such a wind up merchant. Deserves for things to go against his. End of the day we turned it on 2nd half regardless of the ref trying to spoil the evening

I was in hospitality last night so I was right in front of it and that Gibbons tackle was a classic man and ball. The referee only gave a yellow because most of the crowd were up in arms but it was a good tackle.

Over 90 mins Pompey deserved the three points but the referee gave you every 50/50 decision and seemed card happy.

Solid away point given the circumstances - new manager for the opposition, first home game, having to manage the minutes of Draper/House and the lack of options in CM.

It was probably the lack of availability and options in CM that cost us the three points by the sounds of it because we couldn't retain the ball as we have been doing recently. We ended it with a midfield three of a CM, wide left and a striker.

Seriously!? Don’t think I’d have said we rode our luck. Yeah Marosi made some good saves, so did their keeper. We won’t go down so don’t worry too much.
We defended well but there were plenty of crosses into our box, particularly late in and Marosi made some good saves. TBF their keeper made a good save from Bayliss which would have killed the game off. Just felt that the equaliser was coming given the defending we had to do.

I'm with you on that I don't think we'll go down. Enough winnable games at home, plus we now look capable of picking up points away from home (and score a few goals). Just prefer a bit more of a gap!

Blackpool is a funny one, on the road they are absolutely dreadful (but the opposite at home). We beat them 3-0 the other week with 2 debutant 16 year old youth players at left and right wing back. CJ Hamilton used to be quality but seems to have gone right off the boil.

Sets up a huge game Saturday hopefully we get the new manager bounce! Charlton at Bolton so a decent chance for the winner to lift themselves out the bottom 4.
We need an 11 goal swing to get out of the bottom 4. I'd love it to happen, but I'm not seeing it.

We put in the usual Darrell Clarke performance last night. Got in Blackpool's faces and kept them quiet from start to finish. 2-0 flatters them, and it's rare I've said that about a Cheltenham team in League 1. Lloydy was phenomenal again, the defence looked rock solid and Kinsella's non-stop running in the middle of the park was brilliant to watch.

We've been saying it for a while now, but this team doesn't deserve to be relegated. It's just a shame that we gave everyone an 11 game head start.

Good to see Lloyd doing well, didn't really get much of a look in on loan but seemed lively with us.

Pett is quality though isn't he?!

Thats Gibbo, love's a proper old school tackle, although he did get sent off on his first ever professional start but take that out of Gibbo he's not the same player.

He's been outstanding - Pett that is. Blows my mind that he was without a club until October. He's settled the midfield down and he just always seems to have plenty of time on the ball. I honestly think he's in with a shout of our player of the season, which is crazy when you consider how late he came in.

Thought both sides played some good stuff last night. Great entertainment. Northampton's rotations in the middle caused us problems at certain points of the game. We were poor defensively but couldn't believe Northampton's defending at the end. The last minute or so before the winner we kept entering their box with no challenge. They couldn't clear their lines which lead to the winner, another good finish from Sotiriou. Both sets of fans must be pleased with the way this first season back is panning out though.

He impressed me last night on his debut. Looks like he could be a useful addition between now and the end of the season and like you say, loves a crunching tackle to let his opponent know he's there.

Shit sport.
Fuck Derby and fuck Sonny Bradley.

Not starting any more Matchday threads as I have a 0% win record I think.

He is decent enough, its just that injury record, keep him fit he should do a solid enough job.

Yeah it was pretty horrendous defending for us at the end without question. We put a CM to RB towards the end of the game but even before then we were getting cooked out wide. Entertaining game without question and as you say both teams should be delighted with the points haul to date. I am a little concerned that with our injury woes we may have peaked too soon though. We need to pick up the odd win over the coming games just to ensure we dont get dragged into a proper relegation dogfight. With defending like yesterday it is a concern still.

Fair enough. Think we should have killed the game personally, Udoh had two shots saved, almost an own goal when Udoh drilled it across the box, the Winchester save, Pierre’s header wide, Dunkley’s header saved… we were unlucky.

Agree that a gap would be nice, but there’s no way we’re going the past 14 games not winning 5 to stay up. No way. I’m highly confident in that. I wouldn’t be with Taylor admittedly but we’re playing so well under Hurst which no Salop fan can be surprised about. Give him the freedom of Shrewsbury at this point!

To be fair our lot looked absolutely knackered and you took advantage. They looked like they physically couldn’t get across and your attackers movement made it pretty difficult to handle, no excuses for the bottled challenge for the last goal mind you. Was an enjoyable game to watch in the second half, both teams adapted pretty well to League 1 without too much squad turnover.

I think we’ll start to slip a bit as our current injury situation isn’t sustainable at all. 11 out I think, Fox was limping around for the last 10 minutes last night too. Just got to try and scrape some points from somewhere until we can get people back.

He should have been sent off for that dirty tackle. We've already had several of our players injured and out for the season by so called crunching tackles.

Firm but fair tackle, just like packs was on Kai Kai in the first half.
