He was a shrewd signing in the summer for you guys, seems to be scoring for fun.
Any chance of borrowing him, just until the end of the season like :ohy:

I know you're joking but we are the club that a couple of seasons ago loaned Kristian Dennis out to Macclesfield in the division above (whilst continuing to pay a fair chunk of his wages), where he promptly went on to score a ridiculous number of goals before going on a free transfer to Chesterfield in League One. So you never know...

Sort've worried about our game vs Darlo on Sat.........even though we are much improved, unbeaten in 5 and more solid.

While sat was a superb point we may have lost two crucial players....certainly know our target man Cummins is out after a silly red card which is a massive blow, but also Daniel Shaw a key defender went off injured last week and unsure if he will play.......Shaw was injured 2-3 games early in season in the spell of thumpings.

If both out id like us to switch to 4 at back, we cannot play this style without both I think

I wouldn't be too worried. We look toothless in attack at the moment and a long list of defensive injuries mean we've been poor there since the end of August. We look a shadow of the team that started the season. If we can get players back fit and in form we are a match for anyone in this division but at the moment that's a big if.

If we start with any other line up than the one below I don't hold out much hope of more than a draw. And at the minute I'd guess 3 of them are doubts.

Had a quick word with Gary Brown on Saturday at Boston while he was warming up, he said he won't be back for at least two weeks minimum. Haven't got a clue where Beck was, somebody said to me he was injured.

As for Turnbull he went off in the second half with groin trouble, I'm sure that Gillies would have played if he was fit? He was on the bench and actually we could have done with him coz Thommo was absolutely awful.

Also Caton had to be replaced as well through injury, also Galbraith took a whack to the nose he was getting touchline treatment. It doesn't look great for Saturday at all with the injuries piling up.

I can't see us coming away with anything on Saturday against you guys, like you say mate unbeaten in 5 and looking pretty solid after an impressive away draw at Brackley.

That performance alone is head and shoulders above anything that we've achieved over the last 5 weeks. Apart from the 3 goals we scored against FCUM. We simply just can't create anything at the moment, our latest match at Boston was pretty poor.
I just hope we have a team to put out on Saturday.

We're back in FA Cup action this weekend with ANOTHER home tie (think that's about 10 in a row now in the FA Cup!) against FC United of Manchester.

We will certainly be hopeful of getting past FCUM (hopefully without the need of a replay) but to give them their due, they have picked up a couple of good results recently (3-1 win over Tamworth springs to mind) so it'll be a tough test.

Not aware of any new injury concerns. We've been without Harry Winter and Michael Clarke the last couple of weeks but I think that's pretty much it on the injury front.

Not expecting a big crowd either. Think FCUM's away following hasn't been great this season. If it's over 2,000 I'd be surprised.

Well looks like curzon/darlo is a good bet for a draw then.

Both move it to wrong time, but could be a good game......1-1 looks a good bet.

One positive is we starting to have creative options finally. New signing baker from Las week an attack midfielder, Leonard back from injury, summer signing Rory Fallon soon back.....we desperately need these types of player

Definitely signs of the game ending up with a point a piece, with the injury crisis at our club developing possibly could be the wrong time. Still I think It'll be a decent game, especially after last season's encounters. I'll second that 1-1 a decent bet.

I'm looking forward to going to tomorrow's match. New signing Paulo Mendes will be in the squad for tomorrow's game, he's a 24-year-old Portuguese striker, god only knows how he ended up in the north-east looking at his previous clubs.

And another chance to see Adam Dawson our loanee from Tranmere.

0-0 half time.

Very very poor half for us. We look like a side which has played only one way all season then suddenly changed it.

To be fair, think system isn't problem, but losing our targetman up front through suspension....means we just lump it forward time after time to a forward with no strength, a weak first touch and no height so Darlo deal with it easily.

Should be 2-1 to Darlo, they created very few genuine chances, but Beck had a header which should have gone in and they missed a one on one. We just after their one on one miss should have scored missing an easy chance.

Maybe Braintree had an off day, and one game doesn't prove too much...
But if they're second in Conf South, it would further the claims that Conf North is of a significantly higher standard than Conf South this year

Well we nabbed it 1-0 with a goal late on.

to be fair we didn't deserve it, 0-0 would have been the correct scoreline, but i'll gladly take the win and it's now 6 games unbeaten and 10 points out of 18 which is not bad at all.

Weird game, two sides who were for nearly 90 minutes utter atrocious going forward is the best way to sum the entire game up. Darlo had lots of possession and for 75 minutes dominated the game.....but created nearly nothing from this at all. They remind me of Curzon at this stage last season before Morgan came in......6-7 players trying to tippy-tap the ball all day around the outside of the box with only one player actually inside the box waiting to score marked up by 6 defenders so having little chance of doing much with it.......add in that player is Beck who simply isn't good enough and flogged their best chances and they have problems.

we suffered badly by the players out today, Naill cummins is enormous for our side...he holds up play, wins the headers, creates the attacks, you take him out and we had very very little going forward as we kept playing it forward and losing it within 5 seconds and that set the tone of the game, us losing ball constantly and them doing nothing with it.

chances were mostly in first half, they had two great ones and we had one great one, second half was all Darlo but neither team doing anything at allso game was looking a cert 0-0. Things changed on about 75 minutes. I do not know if it was because of our subs made or because of the changes Darlo made (leaving huge gaps at the back) but suddenly we had 3 glorious chances as we seemed able to surge players forward and yet somehow missed them all to think we had flogged a great chance of a win.

Then with 3 minutes to go our player go to the edge of the box, got some space and smacked it superbly into the top corner of the net to get the win.....darlo as i'm sure their fans will agree would never have scored had they still been playing so once a goal went in that was that. Harsh on Darlo, but end of the day they flogged masses of possession to create absolutely nothing and when we finally did have a short 10 minute spell of the game we got the 3-4 good chances and scored from one of them to win it.

So Mills has been binned! Can't say I'm too surprised after our last two performances at Harrogate and South Shields! Got no idea for a replacement.. John McCarthy maybe? Bad times....

nah i recon your just a player, maybe two off a very good side. As i said in my report you reminded me of us this time last season.......solid, but toothless. we then added adam Morgan, scored goals for fun and won most of our games then he left us and went back toothless, then got warburton near end of season scored goals again and started to win.

you just need that player to support Beck as he won't score the goals for you.

Well I'm not sure what to make of today's match, got to the ground nice and early to put our flags up on the nets behind the goal. Absolute pissing it down all day, had a quick chat with Brian Atkinson about Paulo Mendes apparently he's not even a striker.

We lost the match in the first half which we totally dominated, we had a decent chance with a Beck Header in the first half that he probably should have done a lot better with. But the worst culprit was Thommo how on earth he missed an absolutely glorious chance of putting us 1 nil up. Surely today has gotta be his last game up front with Beck. And Beck should never have been playing today.

Curzon chances we're limited to one in the 1st half, not sure who it was but he should have scored.
For all the possession we had today we never looked likely to score, we just simply can't put the ball away.

I'd have been happy with a draw today, especially after our second half performance we huffed and puffed and created absolutely fuck all at the end of the day, just basically not good enough.
I thought Curzon deserved their win in the end, after some great chances that they missed. One of them was probably worse than our miss. Fantastic finish the winning goal, Bartlett couldn't pull us out the shit today with that strike.

Overall another worrying performance today, nothing really positive to come out of the game.
Man of the match for me was the Darlo fans that turned up today to watch another poor performance.

And I think the players knew it, they soon disappeared off the field never even acknowledged the Darlo fans.

Big thanks to the Curzon keeper who acknowledged us applauding us for travelling today.
We had a good bit of banter with him today what a funny guy, especially when he had to go and retrieve the ball. He came back and said I'm fucking knackered now.

Be interesting to see where York go with a replacement, it shall be a massive decision at a crucial time of the season. someone with experience down here or an ex player or maybe a higher up manager willing to drop due to club/squad/budget.

Darren Edmondson for me instantly came right to the front without a need to think, fills the ex player with conf north experience area, knows full time and part-time football well......but he's now youth coach at Carlisle and doubt he'd drop.

trying to think of others, its hard for York as they have never been at this level to know who to get. do you say go for someone whose done really well at part-time clubs like say Jansen at Chorley or Flanaghan at curzon and give them a chance at a bigger club.....but managers who may simply not suit a full time set-up or do you go with someone who knows the big full time club style but may fail miserably when it comes to this level.

another one like Edmondson who i think could possibly fit in both areas if Morrell at Tamworth who of course was manager previously at Wrexham so knows the full time and part time set-ups.

Martin Gray is massive bookies favourite at 1/4 for the York job, hope it's crap but that's very short odds with the next being 14/1 (Redfearn)

Probably jump straight on the train to York, good luck to him, he's averaged 100 points and over 100 goals per season for the past 5 seasons with us so not a bad CV

Were do you think Darlo go from here?

Firstly we need a foothold in this division until we get the finances and ground in order. I'd take avoiding relegation right now, no doubt Martin will be trying to take some of our players to York.

There's been too much faffing about, will we, won't we be getting investment, the only offer was apparently from Raj Singh who screwed the club over in the first place then he withdrew when he knew what the fans thought about his proposed involvement again. I think all the uncertainty has led to the poor form and now the resignation of the manager

I think we need to regroup once the fallout settles and have a structured plan going forward.

that was quick.

looking at it as a neutral it seems a good move for York, he's clearly an ambitious manager and when given the resources has certainly delivered, i'd say only one major major worry with Gray shown up over the last 6 months.............that is when the going gets tough, the tough whinge, moan and quit, which isnt showing he knows how to handle pressure situations.

Maybe its what was needed for both parties, it seemed to have gone wrong between Darlo fanbase/gray after the Raj singh situation, but surely Gray knew he was never going to be accepted......clearly gray just has that frustration of being close to a good side but unable to afford that extra player or two to achieve it.
