The Pontiff makes it, Whitfield starts and Gibbons comes in for I assume injured Raglan.

Strongest XI we’ve put out in a while that.

If it's a tight game after an hour or so I back us to win it. So many game-changers on our bench and the same can't be said about the opposition.

Knowing us though we'll concede early and allow them to shut up shop...

That goalkeeping position really needs sorting out as the first priority this summer.

Well he has gone off injured now. Hope it’s nothing too serious but the level of incompetence we have to overcome in that position is a significant part of what’s caused us to still have our league status in question.

Two big errors causing the goals. Their lad made a right mess for their penalty and Boot had a mare.

Goal knocked the stuffing out of us but since the equaliser we’ve been much much better and Crewe seem very fragile after it. There for the taking.

2-1 Kay.

Was just about say there was little to no quality in this game at all but that is a stunning goal.

Vale let in a last minute equaliser. Seen that film before.

From that position it's annoying we didn't see it out but bigger picture I guess is we've still pulled further clear with another game crossed off. Think both Vale and Crewe will be secure now.

How many points have we dropped in the last 5 minutes of games this season? How many points have we thrown away from winning positions?

Almost a ful house of results that would have totally assured us of safety. For fucks sake, Vale.

This has been an ongoing thing for a really long time now. Last season we did it all the time too so this is across various different managers and you can date it back to Page as we did it then too. Hard to say what to do at this point about it as not sure whether it’s just a general naivety or fitness or something else.

David Artell, what an absolute cock.

This is the man who, when we went into admin, told all the other players in the dressing room that it would all be okay and everything would be sorted out, then signed for somebody else the next day.

Deserved 3 points but I will definitely take the 1. By far the better side. Never in my life have I seen a player fake an injury because he was that shit and getting that much abuse. Couldn't hack it the bottlejob. See you next year clayheads.

Fair result and what a fucking finish. Neither side deserved to win that game at all. We were on top till the stupidly needless penalty, exceedingly shite before that fantastic goal from Kay and then Vale sat back and invited us on as soon as they went 2-1 up. Pressed the self-destruct button twice yet got a point out of it so that's a relief on our part.

Ryan Boot put in the worst goalkeeping display I've ever seen at Gresty Road (including our own shocking keepers) and there's no way on Earth he's injured. Absolute bottler with no backbone and didn't fancy playing today after our fans started baiting him. Not very professional at all. Shame Jones is like a rustbucket cos that second mistake would've been duly punished too. That said, credit to the young lad Hornby who put in a good display for the Vale between the sticks and made two fantastic saves. That said, three stupid passes from us almost cost us any share of the points. Why didn't Sterry just whack it? Vale lad does him like a kipper, stonewall penalty, no complaints. Kay's goal was fantastic but came from Wintle doing a stupid sideways pass which we initially dealt with and then Jones giving it away (like he did at Barnet every time he was on the ball) and that led to an absolute goal out of nothing, but one of exceptional quality and Garratt had no chance with that.

Our goal was our best move of the match, fantastic belief, fantastic move, Vale stood off us, let us play and a great finish by the boy Kirk, fantastic finish to give us a well-deserved point on the balance of the 90 minutes.

Couldn't see what happened with McKirdy and that fan at the end either, any Vale lot saw what went on?

The guy is an absolute moron. Zero class.

I’m sick of having to listen to him on Radio Stoke every week. In fact, I’m still not entirely sure why Radio Stoke even cover Crewe.

Agree with most of that, I felt we were the better side for the first 30 or so minutes, should have been 2 or 3 up before they equalised.

2nd half was a non-event until Kay's goal, what a strike. Got to sit back and admire a finish like that, if it doesn't win the Vale Goal of the Season award, I'd like to know which one does. The Vale defence in the final 10 minutes though, where did they go? McKirdy fluffed a great chance, Nolan could have scored. The goal though, we had players queuing up on that left hand side. Cracking finish from Kirk, calmness personified to roll that in.

We did deserve a draw, had the better of the play and created the better chances, even if we were a bit flat in the 2nd half. Bowery, Sterry and Miller struggled, wonder how fit the latter 2 are. Bowery looks knackered and in need of a rest.

The incident with McKirdy came when him and one of the Vale players tussled for a loose ball that went out for a throw. I don't know if McKirdy pushed him off the pitch and into the away end or whether he slipped. But one of their fans came on and pushed McKirdy, pathetic on both the stewards part that he was able to and pathetic on their fans part. Just turned a bit ugly and the ref was right to call time, the players heads had gone.

I really enjoyed that game, the ugly off field scenes aside. A cracking Crewe v Vale game which had both teams going for it, some good football, drama, controversy. Barring something incredible, see you next season Vale fans.

The Alex clearly some 12 year old keyboard warrior, what a fucktard you are lad /lass.
Mckirdy should of been red carded , he pushed Whitfield deliberately over the barrier having already had a yellow for a 2 footed lunge that many players see red for.
Boot was a joke and his deliberate fake injury has now sealed his fate...free transfer.
Thought Crewe deserved a point but I'm afraid our continual conceding late goals to other shit teams around us epitomises our car crash of a season

Really enjoyed that game. It massively lacked in quality and was littered by mistakes but that just added to it all really. Wild celebration for both sides 2nd goals. Unfortunately there was abit of fisty cuffs at both ends of the ground, but in all it wasn't too bad.
And just a mention to Boot, that was comfortably the most comical performance I've ever seen, and he completely bottled It, never seen our crowd get on an opposition players back as much as that, it was comedy gold.

The famous Crewe roar and atmosphere clearly got to him :2thumb:

Swindon crewe and grimsby conceded late goals to draw or lose and accrington we blew a 2 nil lead.

Surprised at that stat it seems far more.
Our latest goal is maybe an 86th minute mark, we never get late winners.
As a side note which imbecile at Crewe made the decision for a 2300 sell out to instruct stewards to say ......sit where you want to ...
Absolutely idiotic decision causing stewards to get grief not of their doing.

I would have taken a point before the game but to throw it away at the end is terribly disappointing.

Both teams look safe now though tbh.

Also I honestly hope we never see Boot in a Vale shirt again, he's an absolute embarrassment to us.
