We had him on loan last season. He looked decent in the 20 mins he played, but bear in mind this was against North Ferriby. He then got a mysterious hamstring injury and was never seen again. Good to know that he's still alive!
It's a strange one. Gary Monk stating he had a very bright future ahead of him yet he's later released, goes back to Huddersfield and is later released by them. Something obviously went badly wrong for/with him.
He's been with us all preseason (as have all the anounced signings) and he's impressed so far - fingers crossed it all works out. If so we'll have a gem on our hands.

In the least surprising deal of the summer, Nicky Hunt has joined Notts County. Good riddance to a bad hunchback.

How the fuck has Hunt got a league club.

Nicky Hunt said:
"When Kev gives you a ring you know what he's all about and it's fantastic for me to join up with him again. I've known him since I was 17 and he's a good friend of mine."

Was on trial with us this summer and looked to be on course for a deal after a couple of good games, but was then let go.

Suspect he will be a very good signing for a National League team and his main strength seems to be he's very good going forward as well as being solid at then back.

Saw him three times I think last season, based on those showings I'd rather Nicky Hunt...

Liam Martin has agreed to join Southport as the club's latest summer signing, subject to international clearance.
Martin has made several appearances for Port during pre-season, impressing the management team enough to earn a permanent contract.

Oh.

How the fuck did he play in the Premier League?
(I used to go to the odd Bolton game and he was also punching above his weight off the field too).

Barthram will be decent, I'm confident the Orient fan saw his only three bad games of his career so far.

I had presumed he'd aged badly and also had a lobotomy or something. E10rifle may not have seen, but someone on our messageboard described him as "the stand-out performer last season". Some people...

In fairness to Barthram he got forward well, just looked like a deer caught in headlights before being massacred by a minigun when defending. It wasn't Benjamin van den Broek level of inept performances, but it was quite bad. Obviously though he had a good season before, will be interesting to see how he does.

Hang on, where did you see Benjamin van den Broek play? And why didn't you warn us he was totally useless? Arguably the worst winger I've seen in a Barrow shirt.

Seems a mixed response on your forum about this move?

Not sure why, he's got a lot of potential and at times was unplayable last season. There were times he struggled but he is 17 and it was effectively his learning season last year. I'm pretty sure he won't have gone to Peterborough to play reserve football either.

And Dover wanted to keep him.
Wanted to keep him isn't quite the same thing as offering him a paltry contract to sit on the bench. Nowhere near National League standard

Worth noting that Steve Davis has decided against signing his son Harry for Orient. He's signed a one year deal with St Mirren in Scotland's second tier.

It was too late to warn you :D

I had the pleasure (and not being a Barrow supporter, it was a pleasure to see such a performance) in seeing him at your game v Braintree. Arguably the worst performance from a winger I've seen in England's top five divisions. Was convinced there was no chance he'd play for you again after that game.

I can't recall him having more than a couple of starts, but I think he was signed on reputation alone - the lad was in the New Zealand squad and playing in the Dutch second league!

We've signed former Manchester City youngster Billy O'Brien as our second choice keeper. Spent last season on loan at St Mirren.

I saw this last night, and decided I lacked the requisite vocabulary to enunciate my thoughts on the matter.

I remember him playing against us for Cheltenham - and for a defender that usually means they were very good. Or very bad.

He's brilliant and only a falling out with Gary Johnson is the reason he was released.

I don't know a single Town fan who wouldn't have him back, especially as we have trialled 4 right-backs this summer and not signed one of them.

He's got a good bit of pace, loves a tackle and loves getting up and down the field. Not the greatest in front of goal, but then what do you expect from a right-back. He'll be back to haunt us one day.

James Dayton has signed on a two year deal.

Dayts is class, if you can keep him fit. Sadly, he's also made of porcelain and will not play many games at all and that will be the truly frustrating thing about him.

His ability means he should be playing in League 1 at least, his injury record sees him in the Conference.

Double defender deal sealed by Tamworth

Defenders Regan Upton and Sam Coulson head the list of the latest new arrivals at The Lamb.
Upton has recently been released by Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Coulson is another defensive player, he moved to Stoke City. Unfortunately injury then struck and was advised to retire from full-time football on medical grounds. But is now looking to play on a part time basis.

FC Halifax Town have confirmed defender Ross Barrows has joined North Ferriby United on loan until January. The 18 year old is well thought of at Halifax coming through the youth ranks and signed a new deal with the Club in May.

Ah 'Bonkers' Brian Little.

I wouldn't listen to a thing that man says about players.
