First incoming for FC Halifax. Sammi Odelusi from Cheltenham Town
Looks like a very good signing on paper, worked with Fullarton at Bolton and it's really positive to see Football League players take a step down in order to work with Jamie again

We've just signed Dom Smalley from Salford. Anybody know anything about him?

Only really broke in to our team in January after spells out on loan at Runcorn Town and Leek. Wise head on young shoulders, neat passer and generally makes it look easy. Still in his teens so plenty more to come hopefully.

We’ve been terrible this season but he’s come in from the youth setup and been a breath of fresh air.

I think Wrexham fans thought they were in with a shout of signing him, but he was always going to go much higher. One of the few positives for Chester fans this season. I also think that playing alongside a rejuvenated Gary Roberts did him the power of good.

Yet to be a regular in any side but is certainly taking a drop here for what should hopefully be his opportunity, a good half way into his career. Looks to have some silky skills that we'd be delighted to see put to use.

Quite a coup for Concord Rangers who are assembling a decent squad in the Conference South with the signing of former Bradford and Lincoln winger Bily Knott
Thats a massive signing for them.

Really surprised hes dropped down to that level. I find it hard to believe no one in the National made an offer......its not like Concord will be paying him big money.

That's right. Concord are one of them plucky non league outfits who attract players who play for the love of the game. They'll never spend anything.

Superb signing for that level though.

Not sure what to make of Adams' comments RE us and Leyton Orient. They may have well offered more, but can't see it being all that much more if true.

He and Daryl McMahon have the same agent, just to muddy the waters further. Suspect we’ll never know the ins and outs. Hope he’s looking forward to a roasty welcome in East London.

To be fair, Knott's struggling with various issues at the minute and needed that move. It'll be one he feels happiest with in terms of location and time to get the help he needs rather than money motivated.

I've literally never seen any one mention us being interested in him apart from just then.

A teenage midfielder from Chester, regardless of his potential, is not the type of player most Wrexham fans want.

Yep, was told that the day of the signing. Could have had a lot to do with it but, as you say, we will never know. Not completely sure that he deserves such a bad reception, but I'm sure he will be expecting it.

Didn't realise things were that bad! Still a big drop mind, and adding to some signings that they have made already. Wonder if their chairman is still a cock.

Not sure you can call Odelusi a Football League player though, probably about his level.

We have a section on Deva Chat called Goat's Grazing Paddock, which is exclusively for Wrexham fans. Read that.

Seconded. I had to look back through this thread to see who you were talking about. I only know who he is because I felt quite sorry for him during our recent clash, and was informed that one of my mates used to teach him.

I was surprised to find out that "much higher" means League Two Notts County. At least he won't be overawed by their floodlights. Good luck to the lad, though.

Exact same here, we've never been linked with him and I don't know any fan who wanted him here. He is basically only known because he started the game a bit too chopsy and then got beasted by Wedgbury all game.

Jordan White has left Barrow and signed for Inverness Caley Thistle

Good, I thought we might have been stuck with him for another 12 months.

A big striker that doesn't really put himself about or head the ball particularly well. Frees up some funds.

So FC Halifax sell us all their best players but give Ben Tomlinson a new deal?:lol:

No problem with that, he's been brilliant under Fullarton and seems to be a good influence in the dressing room. He offers more than Denton for certain. Even under Heath his effort couldn't be faulted but things didn't happen for him, JF's system suits him much better and he's been near his best under him.

We've signed Dominic Smalley from Ashton United (full-back apparently). Not familiar with any of the new signings so far (excluding ex youth teamers), so the pre-season will be interesting.

The striker that Livingston fans said we had signed definitely didn’t arrive. Although largely that was down to his mystery bloodstream issue that occurred weeks after he’d signed. I think that’s definitely had a big impact on his progress in the English game. You’re right though, for his size, he should really bully centre halves more, but it was actually the other way around.

Actually you're wrong there. Not all Wrexham fans are WUMs you know.

I know. I used to post of deva chat until I got fed up of a few of your regulars swearing at me and calling me a goat for no good reason. At least it's better than the old Deva chat.

I've had a look and can't see anyone calling for us to sign Crawford.

Im sure he's a good prospect but as far as I know not a player on our radar. But he's at the heady heights of League 2 now anyway.

His performances in the last month or so of the season did make me think there could be someone there who would score goals at this level. Oh well. Returning to Scotland probably not a bad move for him.

I’m surprised you don’t like Tomlinson, he was entertaining. I remember a Cup game where you beat us and he was mouthy and niggly all game. Then he scored a goal later in the match and celebrated by putting his hand against his ear while running alongside our fans.. resulting in a second yellow card and red. Classic.

I did too to be honest. I even became fine with the idea that Keates would keep him, but knew that if we did, we’d have to keep the ball on the ground. In hindsight, I don’t think White would have made much difference last season, not with the lack of support up front. He’ll go back to Scotland now, score 20 odd and the cycle will start again.

That game is a blast from the past it had everything! Personally I didnt mind Tomlinson but he had a toxic relationship with a large group of our fans and was a general bad apple in the dressing room.

Funny you should mention that. I remember that game very well. Watched it back the other day.

Still probably my all time favourite Alfreton game. Remember Joslain Mayebi?! :ffs:

What a game. I forgot how truly awful we were that day.

From where I was sat it looked like Tomlinson was putting his hand against his ear, but instead he was using his hand as an.. instrument? Whether he goaded the fans or not, that’s a worth a red card in itself.

No Wrexham fan will ever forget Joslain Mayebi. He was crazy. He could do some sublime stuff, stupid stuff, calamitous stuff.. then he’d go AWOL and end up in France. Love that guy.
