Happy with that. Last time we signed a highly rated defender for an undisclosed fee from a lower division side (Clough), it went pretty well.

Reckon he'll do alright. ;)
But Crewe are not a lower division side.

Interesting. We apparently we only offering no more than £150-200 a week to most players last season so we cant have offered a huge wage I wouldnt have thought. Perhaps down to location and first team opportunities. Time will tell to see if Conference North is his level.
Not too disappointed with him moving on, though I reckon he might be okay at North level. I expect the reason he has chosen you is location as I think he's from your part of the world.

Rob Sinclair re-signed, great news. He might even pass forwards a bit more under Cooper then he'll be the complete midfielder.
Hmm .. the complete midfielder would get more than 1 assist and 0 goals in a season. But granted he got

And we didn't pay a fee.

And we didn't pay a fee.
You did apparently. You signed him from Nantwich Town, not Crewe. He got released 12 months ago, signed for Nantwich and you've picked him up from there. The Nantwich Town website seems to think you paid a fee for him.

Ihiekwe also signs a new one year contract, bit surprised and disappointed it wasn't a two year deal though.

Very happy he's signed up, him and Mcnulty formed a very good partnership second half of last season keeping 10 clean sheets in 20. He's only 23 and can tell he's no doubt learning alot from Mcnulty.
Agreed and he also compensates for McNulty's lack of pace. Steve started to look more like the quality everyone told us we'd signed when Iky was paired with him in central defence.

Two, strange ones from the iron, Kenny davis, to borenwood, in my eyes one of the best midfielders in the league, and Sean marks another good player drops a league, would have Davis at the heed any day of the week, must be obviously wedge but also full time contracts maybe ?!!!

Under Pennock we signed a number of ex cons, and played Stoke like tactics.

Now under Cooper we're signing good footballers including someone who used to work in the Police Force. Real change of direction.

Be surprised if Braintree are back in the top half next season. Seems a bit Histon-esque to me.

We had a sniff at Jennings, too. Nearly got it done.

Poor move by Jennings. No doubt more money, but goes from first team regular and captain to probable bench warmer.

Poor move from Tranmere as well really, not sure what he offers them. He's not as good as Norwood or Cook.

Two year deal again!

Player of the year, captain and top goalscorer, shit though according to Wrexham fans.
About time this one got announced! He's okay, I don't think he's anyone to get excited about like a lot of your fans seem to be doing, he's a hardworker with a bit of a Jay Harris uncontrolled nature about him at times. Strangely even though he scored all those goals for Macclesfield that season he's not very comfortable in front of goal. Don't think he's anything better than you've already got.

I don't think he's shit. Far from it.

To be fair to those saying that, there was plenty saying that over the last two seasons. He's a hard worker and takes a great penalty but he's often got a heavy touch, and was pretty profligate in front of goal last season. Not sure what he offers Tranmere. Typical Brabin signing, spend big money on named players on the hope that will get you out.

I've got to say, Tranmere aren't signing the right sort of names to warrant a title challenge IMO.

I liked Cook and Jennings was okay, neither got us out of this league though. We've had better since and still only just scraped out of this hell hole.

Brabin thinks he's signed a "technically very good" and "quick" forward.. Has he signed the right player? :ffs:

Disappointed we've lost Doidge to FGR. Showed a lot of promise last season, and his work ethic is probably one of the best I've seen for us which is good as it creates plenty of chances when hassling defenders - something which will become even more frequent in this league. His touch leaves a lot to be desired, and I don't think he's the sort of player who'll be scoring 20 goals in a season (I may be wrong in this league), but he's a good player to have and a good foil for a 2nd striker.

On the flip side, chuffed with Assombalonga, someone who's properly in the Still mode of non-league players and someone who I reckon will do well for us.
