I really don't wanna drag up this Lincoln/Tranmere argument again but I'm going to anyway. Belmont, how can you say you're still a better side than us? You're clearly not. We've been top since what, January? (That's a guess so I could be wrong). We've had that pressure to deal with as well as our FA Cup exploits and we've dealt with it all and we're still here. We might not play the prettiest football but so what? We're in the Conference and we're doing what's required to get the job done. Maybe if sides like Arsenal were more pragmatic like us they'd do a little better, but that's a completely different argument altogether.

If Tranmere were really the best team in the league they wouldn't have such a woeful record against the top 5, would they? Yet look at us, who have done the double over yourselves and FGR. We've also beaten Oldham, Ipswich, Brighton and Burnley. There becomes a point when it's not a coincidence and that point passed a long, long time ago.

I hope this doesn't come across as bragging because anyone who knows me dating back to the old TFF days will know that's not my style. But I'm not used to this. Lincoln haven't finished in the top half for the last decade and yet we're just about to win the league. I've only seen my team promoted once in my lifetime and I was 6, and we came straight back down the following season anyway. The last time we were in a title race was 30 years ago. What the Cowley's have done for this club is unbelievable.

Sounds like we were shit today but got the job once again. Shame it had to come against Torquay who are a brilliant club and deserve some respite. I hope they can somehow find a way to survive.

Fair play to Torquay they came with a gameplan that so nearly worked but we just have enough in the tank to win mainly thanks to our subs.
Keep going Tranmere we want you guys up with us.

In other news Ben Tollitt is running again.. I'm not sure if that means he will be fit for the playoffs but that'd entirely change the outlook of them for us if he was even available as as an impact sub. Not sure how ACL recovery works.

Agreed with the comments above, some very strange decisions from the ref.
If (and a big if) we can sneak into 5th place, then I'd much rather face Tranmere than FGR in the play-offs. Tranmere looked good going forward, but when we got the ball down we looked the more dangerous side.
Benyu once again carried us today, how lucky are we to have him??

Yeah there's no chance he'll be fit for them. As we found out when Rendell and Yakubu BOTH suffered ACL injuries last season, you can start running fairly soon.

At full strength we're the better side. That's my opinion and it's not going to change. You deserve the title because your results are better than ours. But what we've achieved in the face of so many serious injuries is nothing short of remarkable.

I'm not saying any more on it because it just comes across as sour grapes and I've actually got a lot of respect for what Lincoln have achieved in all comps this season.

The dire record against the other playoff contenders doesn't exist without Aldershot, it's P6 W2 D2 L2 as it currently stands, so nothing worse than average.

If you're so convinced you're better, what I say shouldn't even register.

I best brace myself for having to endure watching Barrow again next season then.

I don't think tranmere like playing teams and pass the ball and have pace.

A grand total of nil points against us this season and the league table suggests otherwise. If you took a leaf out of our dear Cowleys' book maybe your team would be a bit better - the stats don't lie.

Isn't that what a forum is for? To debate? The rest of your argument is based on ifs and buts. Whereas we've just got on with it and done it.

Anyway, I hope your lot come up with us.

I've already said congratulations and that you deserve the title, what more do some Lincoln fans want?

Let's just hope we're both in L2 next season.

A crucial win especially with Braintree and York also getting three points. Deserved it too. Macclesfield, despite still having a chance of making the play-offs, seemed to be timewasting at 0-0 in the second half. They were poor and had nothing up front. Just goes to show how terrible this division is.

Maidstone, what the hell did you do to Delano Sam-Yorke? Man of the match again today.
I don't mind if he helps keep you up so long as we get him in the summer, the boy's mustard

It is pace and movement we struggle with at times, due to McNulty's obvious lack of mobility.

However, we cope fine when we have Jay Harris or a fit Maynard shielding in front of the defence. This week we did not have either unfortunately.

Honestly, I'm non-plussed about getting him in the summer. He had something to prove on loan here. Us going pro next year and having a bigger budget in my mind means we can aim higher.

Lincoln are the better TEAM than Rovers, a side that are definitely more than the sum of it's parts. The Cowleys have played a significant part in achieving that, selecting players who complement one another. However, when it comes to individual players, I wouldn't accept each and every Lincoln player is better than any other in this league.

Didn't you lose 5-0 at home to Braintree not too long ago? Hardly in a position to call anyone woeful
Yes. It was genuinely one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen. We were down to nine men after half an hour, with Minshull's red later rescinded. It's no coincidence that we've started to play better as the pitch is in better shape. Luckily we won't have to worry about grass next season.

We had no Noble, no pinnock, no sinclair, no carter so it's not just you lot with injuries to important players ;)

Well Lincoln, we sent you to this shithole, and today helped give you a big leg-up back. Think we're quits now.
