Good entertaining game. Comfortable win in the end. Plenty of energy from us and played some great football. Day didn't have to make a save of any consequence.
Curle got caught up in the hype about the pitch as first half Carlisle were dire, just pumping it long to Ibehre who got bossed by Jones and Bennett. Cant believe you've played like that and remained unbeaten. Looked more of a threat second half but didn't create anything clear cut.
Our 2nd was a classic counter and taken well by Healey who was immense today. Getting better by the game under Mr Westley.
Even Myrie looked half decent today such was the shitness of Carlisle.

You've actually answered your own question though saying we changed our tactics because of the hype about the pitch.

It's just one of those games all sides have. Now, let's see if HG has a point about dropping down to midtable, because I don't think it's going to happen with Curle in charge.

btw, where's Carver? Still in Newport?

my main fear at the moment is that all those fans who have been slowly returning will now throw their hands up and say Carlisle are crap again and we'll be back down to 4500 attendance and a sombre atmosphere against Exeter.

Don't tell me the fans will stay away after just ONE defeat Shoddy? That would be the proper definition of fickle fans then.

Bit of a bad news for you lot as Donny have turned the game around down at Exeter, and Luton are leading 1-0. And I think we all know Donny and Luton will be up there pushing for the autos, together with Plymouth and Pompey of course.

It's been an absolutely shite day. I fear this day could be the turning point in our season.

I'm gonna FUCKING, ahh no I won't go down that road, but what I will say is that anymore Newport fans who say that Carlisle are shit will wish they hadn't.

Nah, there's no need for that. It's just one defeat after a pretty impressive unbeaten run.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Just remember back when we last won the title, we had that stunning second half of season winning by 2, 3, 4 and 50 every week....................then along came that bloody Macclesfield away game and the 3-0 loss that no one ever understood.

Carlisle are shit. Must be to lose to Newport.

I'm not a Newport fan so I'm allowed to say it right?:bdick:

You're just trying to goad Carver and it won't work.

On reflection, it probably will work.

While not the end of the world I'm still furious and disappointed at the manner of the defeat. It wasn't just that we didn't turn up, it was more that we adapted our tactics to try and handle the bottom team in the division, which granted they have a new manager and had seen an upturn in form, but when you've had a strong start to the season then you should be playing how you want to play and let the opposition worry about handling you.

As it happened, Newport under Westley played more of a creative game, sounds like JBB was a handful, so in trying to handle the old Newport and partly because of the hype about the pitch, we let ourselves be the uncreative cloggers, just lumping the ball forward to a big striker while they played the football. It's all so infuriating.

It's games like this where we could look back and think that's where we fucked up promotion.

If you want to go up you have to be winning games against teams down the bottom, even if they have had an upturn in form.

We have another one of these games coming up on Saturday, so let's see if we can avoid another fuck up.

Carver's a tit.

I bet him a pub on our result and he wouldn't take the bet.

Bottler.

Pitches are just excuse number 22. Both teams have to play on it.

County fans - Is the game Tuesday in serious jeopardy of being called off or do you think it will be OK looking at the weather report?

Say what you want, I know you don't really mean it and if you do then you must be thick.

I don't give a shit to be honest with you little Kev, the run had to end eventually and it's our first this season so it doesn't really bother me and I was kind of expecting it against this lot of backwards folk who always beat us.

I didn't watch the match but I'm blaming Curle :ohm:

Bet you wish you had him as your manager and not Gregs mate Derry.

Why would they want a manager that loses 2-0 to the team rock bottom of the football league? Give yourself a shake Carver.

Cos up until yesterday the same manager was unbeaten in 15 games with the joint best home form and 2nd in the league.

Do yer a swap if you like?

I'd rather have Martin Scott than Hignett.

I was being sarcastic. Obv it doesn't come across on internet.

I think Derry is a dick head to be honest and not a very good manager.

A few of our fans seem to have forgotten we're 2nd in the league, still lots to play for. I think the next two months look tough on paper, hopefully we can stay in the autos.

Great achievement getting this far unbeaten, broken numerous records in the process. I think we've got enough to be top three come May.
