It's clear what Mourinho's doing; using Schwienstiger as a way to show his players how strict he is. And he's the perfect man for it as well with his world class reputation: it'll make other players realize they'll have to put effort in every game and training session to earn their place in the squad.

This is something he always does. He did it with Casillas, Mata, Ramos, etc. He only works in a world with conflict and enemies. It works at first, and then it derails the club. But for 2-3 years, the team will win.... just beware of what happens after... Inter, Chelsea for example went into free-fall...

The downfall at Inter was obviously Rafael Benitez's doing. Mourinho left that team as a treble winner.
As for Chelsea i can't explain what happened between the season he won and the season after. The players were the same, they just stopped playing. Not sure i would blame him for that one.

The players lost all respect for him after the way he treated that female doctor like shit, to imply the downturn wasn't his fault is disingenuous to say the least. The guy is a great impact manager but is a fucking vile human being.

Something will happen at United, it always does with him. I'll put money he won't be their manager in 5 years time.

Lots of his former players speak wonders of him, so he can't be that vile. The thing with the female doctor was a mistake but if that's the reason for players to stop playing, then those same players are very weak minded. They were still playing like crap after he was gone. Diego Costa and Hazard for example are shadows of what they used to be.

I agree he won't last 5 years. But then again he never lasted 5 years anywhere for one reason or another. I would say he will make them a proper team again though.

I really don't think this is the case, Schweinsteiger just isn't in his plans. Which, considering the amount of CM's we've got and the fact we've got another one coming in, and the fact that he's not very good anymore, is completely understandable.

Well said, it's incredible that some people have a go at Mourinho for Benitez's failure.

I think it's far more complicated than that, it might have played some part but I don't think players care that much about a doctor. We'll have to wait for all the autobiographies I suppose.

I think he drained absolutely everything out of the players in 14-15 to win the title, they didn't sign enough new players in the summer to rejuvenate the squad (wtf were Babe Rahman and Papy Djilobodji about), they got off to a shit start, players lost confidence etc. and they never recovered. Obviously the season is a bad indictment of Mourinho's management and he'll have to change if he wants to build a lasting legacy at United but there were plenty of factors at play. I don't think him being overruled on selling Cech to Arsenal helped either.

is a fucking vile human being.
I remember people saying similar things about Fergie, it's great to have someone who people truly despise in charge again.

I don't believe for a minute that's what you think, although I can certainly understand why you would pretend it's the case.

Why not? Being hated by fans of rival clubs means you're doing something right, we've been far too nice since Fergie retired.

Judging by that post you're confusing Mourinho being disliked for being a shit human being and him being disliked for being a good manager and in charge of a rival. I'm not talking of the latter.

Why should we care what people think of him as a personality outside of football?

I think you dislike Mourinho because he's very good at beating Liverpool (he's beaten Liverpool more times (8) than any other side in his managerial career) and the fact he now manages United means you dislike him even more. Why you think he's a "shit human being" is beyond me and seems a bit extreme.

For all you know Pagnell witnessed him rogering an animal or killing a child.

Don't jump to conclusions.

Tell them what you saw, Pagnell.

Seems odd for Bayern to take the high ground on this. They have form in exactly this sort of thing.

I don't get this idea that it's something great to have a manager that's universally despised. Not that I think Mourinho is, but even so I don't know why you'd laud up having someone perceived as a bellend in charge.
If the dislike of him is all down to success then I suppose I can see it because it's more sour grapes from opposition, but that's not the case with Mou.

But surely he would let Schwienstiger at least still train with the team, even if he isn't in his plans?

If it were someone other than Schweinsteiger would anyone give a shit?
I suppose he has a genuine case for discrimination in some respects. Probably not the wisest thing for Jose to have done given how things went at Chelsea, you'd think he'd have learnt to be a bit more discreet about essentially telling someone to piss off.

How have recent seasons as a United fan been mate? :hypo:
I love this one from Liverpool fans. According to some of them the last 3 years have been brilliant since Ferguson left.

As the United fan said and most I know would say, it's been most frustrating and the downturn since Ferguson's departure has been obvious. I'm sure Liverpool fans have enjoyed seeing United not win the league or compete well in Europe these last 3 years. However...

The reality is even in this "brilliant" time for the Scousers they have won the square root of fuck all whilst United won an FA Cup. Liverpool haven't earned a point off United in the league since March 2014. Van Gaal doubled them two years in a row.

If that's brilliant, well, we all know what misery has been heaped on them over the years.

Maybe he has very specific training sessions and only wants players who are in his plans to be involved. Maybe Schweinsteiger doesn't want to leave and this is the club letting him know unequivocally that there is no place for him.

It was tongue in cheek for fuck sake. I'll draw a diagram for you next time and you won't have to spend five minutes of your life composing a response.

Jose Mourinho "I already heard two of my colleagues from other Premier League clubs and I have to confess I don’t like it. It’s not ethical."
He is already losing it.
