The other thread is about Rodgers, this is about the incoming manager and will be renamed when an appointment is made.

BBC saying Liverpool want Klopp in by the end of the week and talks are going well. Also mentions his 'imminent arrival' on the main page. I really don't want to count chickens but it looks like it's a strong possibility. I've gone from not believing it will happen to not wanting anyone else. If it doesn't come off I'm going to be gutted.

The only thing I don't like about him, is the fact he didn't go down with the ship when he steered Dortmund into last seasons disaster. Just ran away when things got tough.

Other than that, he's a lovely chap.

Very good move for you if this comes off. Excellent manager whose style of play will be perfectly suited to the Premier League.

Eh? He stayed for the whole season and took them away from trouble and to the cusp of a Europa League place.

He announced he was quitting when the shit was hitting the fan.

He'll be a great manager for Liverpool though, hopefully they'll be exciting to watch again.

Massive fan of his. We won't get many chances to appoint a manager of his caliber so i hope we pull it off.

He stuck with Mainz when they went down, so jumping ship is probably a bit harsh. Maybe he thought it was better for Dortmund that he left.

I think of all the options in the world right now, he's the best fit by a mile. Someone the fans can idolise. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the media brown nosing storm which is imminent.

As long as it doesn't get to the levels we saw with Van Gaal, it will be just about bearable. If he does get the job, I'd prefer it if the media took a step back and let him get on with it, but there isn't much chance of that happening.

The hype around van Gaal wasn't deserving, he's a past it manager. Klopp deserves the praise but I think it might just be insufferable for a few weeks. Unless of course youy're a Liverpool supporter.

To get spanked by Arsenal, and watch Liverpool pottentially sign a great manager in the space of a few days.

His credentials make him a great fit, though I've always imagined him to replace Wenger.

Took the Netherlands to a third place finish in the world cup, the same Nethelands who now sit fourth in their Euro qualifying group.

How much has he spent at United so far? And to play as poorly as you did on Sunday having spent that much should be investigated.

He's spent a bit, but the squad was in need of a massive overhaul from years and years of Fergie somehow papering over the earthquake cracks. I don't think any manager would have had it simple particularly after the disaster that was Moyes.

As for Sunday, it was tactical arrogance and naivity. You should know all about that being a gooner ;)

Tactical arrogance is one thing, but was it the best option to bring Fellaini on to just elbow people? Was he EVER going to save the game for you? After spending £260million on players you'd think plan B would be a whole lot better than Fellaini yes?

Tbf, I don't think there's a player in the squad who'd have been able to change the game the way we were setup to play. And the expenditure isn't a balanced reflection on the players we lost whether it be they got too old or became dead wood.

If you want to speak of specific failures, how do you feel about Cech being your only signing this summer when I presume the ambition would be have been the title? LVG might have made signings that admittedly failed, but atleast he has the bollocks to take calculated risks.

Also, I don't our discussion has anything to do with the Liverpool manager :bg:

Guys, this thread isn't about how tactically naive Van Gaal is or how incredibly ugly Fellaini is. It's about who is going to be the next manager of the greatest football club in existence. Kindly fuck off with your United/Arsenal argument to another thread.

Someone change the thread title - there's been a serious mistake made somewhere.

On the difference between him and Arsene Wenger… "He likes having the ball, playing football, passes. It's like an orchestra. But it's a silent song. I like heavy metal."

Liverpool fans cool with a "non sexy" style of football?

I think the way dortmund played was amazing. As good as Liverpool during Rodgers and SAS.
