So apparently Reading placed under a new transfer embargo for failing to pay HMRC. With this hanging over them why the fuck the EFL let them off the previous one I don’t know. Whole thing stinks.

What a shambles. The EFL surely have to hit them with a points deduction now.

Offering players 3 year deals but can't afford to pay their bills. Knibbs and Smith must be delighted with their decisions.

It just goes to show that agents run the show now. Clearly, Smith and Knibbs did zero due diligence of their own and Reading have clearly bullshitted that they can afford these players on pretty decent wages you would imagine. Who at the football league ratified and allowed these signings p? Why have Reading made them when they know they can't probably pay them? Throw the book at them. 20+ points deduction and cancel any transfers made. They've tried to get away with cheating again.

Our ex-midfielder Lewis Wing was apparently all set to rejoin Ainsworth at QPR…then signed for Reading instead at the last minute.

Wonder how he’s feeling about that now.

Reading's financial problems were hardly a secret so if they end up with wages being late or not even paid, and the consequences of such, then they only have themselves to blame.

Hopefully Reading at least suffer a 9 points deduction for the late wages but being the FL and the Disciplinary Panel it will probably be mostly, if not all, suspended.

I think they have a points deduction hanging over them?

Expect to see a lot of injury time ( in theory )

Although who knows if these new ideas will be put into practice

That'll be fun for those trying to catch trains after games (if they're running in the first place...)!

Just looking at the BBC front page for League 2 since I haven't updated my bookmarks to L1 yet.

Of the news items on page 1, they have one for every signing, as you'd expect, a couple that relate to the league as a whole (the latest being the new rules for timewasting) and then of the ones that are just about specific clubs, one each for Stockport, Swindon, FGR and Notts County and SIX for Wrexham.

Glad we've avoided being a sideshow for now, it's worse than when Salford came up and thank god that died down.

In our playoff final there were 9 minutes of first half injury time despite being no major stoppages, reminiscient of the world cup so I wonder if the refs were already applying these guidelines at that point.

Thing is its not just the time taken up that's the issue, its the way these time wasting tactics break down any kind of momentum you might have searching for an equaliser or winner. Im looking specifically at Wycombes keeper having a chat to the physio on 80 mins

Certainly a fair comment for us under Ainsworth, but I haven’t seen anywhere near as much of the “dark arts” since he left.

Confirmed today that we're not running a programme this season, we lost £30k last season running one. If I heard it right, we'll be bringing out three of four periodic publications over the course of the season instead.

Booooooo. But a sign of the times, I will buy the magazine instead.

Reading, Wycombe and Lincoln in this league don't do them, anyone know of anymore?

Oh dear, these things like planning and local residents are so tedious.

We have had our own battle with our ground, getting the council's support seemed to be a long battle and now the new hurdle seems to be our own "supporters club".

Honestly feel that these constant battles which club's face to have a home is partly why so many clubs often end up getting rid of the classic historic grounds and end up getting copy and paste soulless stadiums and pushed out of their traditional areas.

What's this about Peterborough owing £14.5 million to some Canadian company who want to place them in administration? Not another cheater in the league! There'll be very few clubs left who are playing by the rules at this rate!

It isn't easy getting the site for new ground's either!

NIMBYs appear wherever. We have one who objects to everything in the local vicinity, including a Beach Volleyball Court in an already existing large park, with sports facilities, because someone once sat on that particular but of grass and had a picnic.

We had a few objections when we built the new stands, mainly to the enabling development of student flats behind the ground, but I'm pretty sure work didn't start until permission was granted and all conditions discharged. Still, doing things by the book doesn't work for some clubs

McAnthony sold half of Posh to a couple of Canadians who were in business together but one of them was forced out after being accused of loaning money to different companies without authorisation. He's the one who's chasing his money back.

"In November, OKR sent a demand to the club for repayment of its loan, which has been accruing compound interest at an annual rate of 18 per cent.

According to the club’s most recent set of accounts, which were filed at Companies House last month, OKR’s demand was for £7.16million. The club disputes this amount and the accounts reveal that the club has made a payment of £1.1million since last summer.

But the accounts also note that OKR’s loan is secured by a charge “on the company’s assets and the right to appoint an administrator in the event of a default”."

McAnthony has said on twitter or X whatever you want to call it these days that it’s not going to happen… have to see how it plays out.
