In the championship? Elliot was bang average season before last and only decent for 6 months of last season. So 6 good ish months in 2 years. Milwall could and should have done a lot better.
Shhhh....I was trying to boost his transfer fee - I heard that Neal Harris is a regular poster.... but now I realise he's out of contract anyway!!

We have signed Leon Barnett from Bury. Bury fans, tell me.. how terrible is he?
When fit good. Will put in some cracking, goal saving tackles for you. When NOT fit (or returning from injury) will take a fair few games to get back up to speed. Most Bury fans would have kept him and binned our captain and leader of mice Kay.
Clueless when he has won the ball back and has to decide what to do with it, better in a back 3.

Gaby Zakuani possibly incoming to us, rumour based on a blurry video he uploaded to Snapchat of forms being signed which allegedly say "Gillingham" on them. Love it.

Apparently offered Darren Potter a 1 year contract.

Think we're gonna have another bad season if we can't do better than that unless MK Dons fans can tell me different?

Bury have signed Adam Thompson from us. Now this is gutting, getting priced out by Mansfield followed by Bury

How do people know that? Especially as he's only just signed.. I'm calling bullshit on that one.

All our 'big earners' have gone to clubs such as Mansfield, Port Vale and Northampton, none of which will be paying high wages.

When we had Chris Eagles everyone was telling us how he was on at least 6k a week... he then signed for Accrington Stanley.

People forget we have the best training facilities outside of the PL in Carrington, kindly lent to us by Man City... your an idiot if you ignore this factor in us being able to beat other league one clubs to signings.

I didn't grow up dreaming to play in wonderful training complexes.

I dreamt of winning things and/or earning very good money.

Being able to work in an impressive environment 5 days a week would not be a pull factor?

My mates sister is one of the players girlfriends.
Will Atkinson got bumped up to about 3k at Mansfield. We pretty much had a deal done with Thompson for 3k then he got a call from Bury and pretty much was asked to name his price.

Your mates sisters girlfriend of one Southend player, who also wouldn't be getting told the wages of his teammates?

Reliable.

Fans were very mixed on him, on the one hand he is very negative but on the other he can really control the pace of the game very well. Very good passer of the ball but that pass is rarely forwards. Still got it in him to do a job at league one.

Yeah meaning my mate is mates with the player himself who is good pals with Will and Adam himself. It's probably more reliable than most stuff posted on here and let's face it, it's bury who history proves aren't shy of spending beyond their means.

Ah Darren 'the crab' Potter, that brings me back to darker days. Was awful for us after signing permanently and could never pass the ball forward, he also had the heart of a butterfly, in a 5 man midfield he'll probably do okay as he can pass the ball well (albeit sideways) and has been part of a promotion winning team at MK Dons.

So what exactly is 'our means' then? Are Bury not allowed to sign league one quality players now?

Spending more on wages than your crowds can pay for, but you can sign whoever you like...

We make money in other ways you know. Like selling players perhaps.

Very ironic coming from a Southend fan, who have been in trouble several times due to not paying bills and overspending.

I don't follow Bury but who have you sold in the past couple of years for fees of note?

We've sold Matty Foulds to Everton for around 300k Jacob Bedeau to Villa a decent fee too that will rise to 1 million based on appearances etc. Jack Ruddy went to Wolves for an undisclosed fee but it wouldn't have been cheap. We sold Tom Soares for money.

I'm not saying we've got loads of money but there's only Dawson, Vaughan, Beckford and probably Thompson who'll be on good money and who knows if Vaughan will still be here come August?

Sold 17 year old Bedeau for 900k in January, and 18 year old Foulds for 325k last year to Everton.

We have numerous youth players now in the first team (George Miller, Callum Styles and Scott Burgess).

We train at the finest facilities in the league.

It all adds up, people seem to be ignorant towards us generally, which is fair enough if you don't support us, but maybe do some research before calling us out.

Quite a bit of chat that we're going to announce the signing of Gaby Zakuani imminently.

Thoughts Posh/Cobblers? I understand he misses half the season through international duty...

Correct, it disrupted our already terrible defence as he would miss 2 or 3 games at a time. He is a warrior and puts his body on the line, decent pace also, a solid CB. Downside is he is really poor on the ball and has a 50 p head. The other thing which i noticed was that he when we were defending free kicks coming into our boxes he would continually go deeper and deeper so that he could attack the ball from the deepest position. Which gave the impression that he was always in the right place at the right time, but would also be playing everyone else onside.
