Like i say just a rumour but if true and we've missed out because of waiting for a replacement especially when hes been kept out the team anyway makes no sense.

Not to downbeat if Loft comes in, his goal to minutes ratio paints a better picture than goals to games and as you say we've got Thomas and Willo, (plus look at Sodje and Pope stats before they came) would still like another striker though all be it if we are playing the system we are we could go with just the three + Massey as back up if desperate.

He might be a better fit for you guys, seemed to have some success at Scunny with a quick guy (Eisa?) supporting him.
He did have a short spell last season where he was looking good and scoring. Then suffered an injury, Coburn got fit and he didnt get many chances to impress, albeit never looked like making an impact when he did play.
His ball control has always been awful though

Muskwe was decent for us, not super-prolific but we may well not have played him in a way that best set him up to score, as we were so focused on the "big man up front" thing back then.

A good player but certainly not like for like for Nombe, I wouldn't have said.
Yeah doesn’t look like he really suits the big man role. Seems to be someone we could use cutting in from either side and likes to run at players. Hope we can get this one done and then bring in more of a ‘no 9’ to replace Nombe like for like.

Sure I saw on Insta that he's literally only just bought a new house up in Shrewsbury too
Ah has he. I know he’s down here quite a bit as his kids still live down this way. Think he left under a bit of a cloud although that may just be rumour.

He’s ok is Bowman. Highly doubt he’d ever come back though
He is not the player he was in his time at Exeter from what I’ve seen. He’s become very petulant and nasty to, a red card walking in the games I’ve seen him recently. Still that doesn’t mean he couldn’t rekindle the undoubted skills he HAD at Exeter where he was a bloody nuisance against us!

Signed attacking midfielder Tino Anjorin on loan from Chelsea. If he can stay fit he's a championship level player. Played 15 times for Huddersfield and was good there. Big ifs on fitness and attitude.
He might be a good signing but as you say he's a gamble. Lets see

Bowman is definitely of interest of a few teams in League 1/2 so I’m told. He does split the fanbase, has an unreal game about one every six/seven then goes back to being average or below par. Never confident when he’s one on one either as he misses far more than he scores when through on goal. I personally wouldn’t want to lose him but if we do then he’s far from irreplaceable. I’d take losing Bowman if it means we gain James Collins, as long as Udoh stays then I’m happy. I can see him leaving tomorrow tbh.

Strange that you say that considering he bagged a hattrick against Cambridge a couple of seasons ago and played a blinder against you. Agree on the red card walking bit, he has a short temper, especially if things aren’t going his way. Bowman is a decent League 1 striker and I’d say he’d be very good at League 2 level.

Bobbin' & folletto ... what did you make of Liam Millar when he was with you?

Seems we might be signing him from Basel.

I posted this on another forum:

Divided opinion a bit.

I found him quite frustrating, clearly a better footballer than anyone else we had, I just felt he often tried to do too much and wasn’t veryclinical.

I’m sure he’s matured and improved though as he’s obviously gone on to much better things.

Fair. Seems to have been playing regularly for Basel in the League and in the Europa League so hopefully he's kicked on a lot.

I’d say he definitely has.

In his defence, he probably held onto the ball for too long because he didn’t trust any of his numpty team mates with it.

Callum Morton has failed his medical apparently, so that’s one we can rule out!

I think it's going to be a nice and quiet deadline day for us in Lincoln. I think if we can, we'll try and get a wide player in on loan but I think that's only if an A* loan becomes available - there's been zero rumours on this.

The window on the whole has been really positive. We've shifted to a core of permanent players rather than loans which we've had since returning to the football league. I think we've two loans which leaves us with a core of developing our own.

We'll probably be running with one of the smallest and youngest squads in L1 but at least they're ours and it's the small squad which will bite and we'll definitely need to be lucky on the injury front. It's a fine balance but I'd rather not have players sat in the stands and picking up a wage.
I think we'd all be fairly content with going into September with what we have. Been nice to have a quiet couple of weeks and not be having to try and fill first XI spots or having to sign three or four for squad depth. As bad as our recruitment was in 2021/22, we've now just about flushed those out and done very well (on paper, but the early signs are good), in the last couple of transfer windows.

Denver Hume and Will Vaulkes rumoured tonight. Vaulkes I would love to see happen as I’ve always rated him, has a Rory Delap style throw too which our team of giants would do well off. Been told that we’re in advanced talks with Jorge Grant and once again, James Collins. Collins depends on Derby signing a striker though. Reading rumoured to be in for Bayliss which would be a big, big blow. Where do they get the money from!?

He's had a right shitter with injuries since his Northampton spell, he basically missed the season with us when we had him on loan.

Yeah seems that way. I’m actually quite pleased it’s fallen through as we can’t afford to waste a wage on someone who’s injured. Just hope we can get people sorted tomorrow.

Bobby Clark set to sign from Liverpool on a season long loan. A player that is highly rated at Anfield and made a few appearances last season for their first team at 17 years of age.

Not Warne’s usual type, but happy to have an attacking wildcard coming in.

I see Exeter have the Crewe model of vastly over exaggerating player ability and getting £1 million pounds plus for them. Crewe used to do a couple each year and half of them were bang average, but because they were coming from the Crewe academy, they always added an extra zero on to the price tag.

It's not a slight by the way. It's clever from the club. Peterborough also do it to a lesser extent.

Nombe is clearly a good player but I've seen him play a few times now and he's never stood out as one would expect of a £1 million + player. Come to think of it, there's barely any player I've seen at level 3 worth that much. Just shows the crazy world of football now.

Rumoured to be signing Kyle Edwards from Ipswich. That might be us done however there’s talk of potentially one more coming in on loan.

Well, Nombe has nothing to do with the academy and I'm sure that Matt Taylor at Rotherham knows his true value having managed him for a season.
Josh Key appears to be ripping it up at Swansea at the moment, I'm sure they are getting good value for however much they paid too.
And Peterborough have taken a number of our players, with mixed results, but I gather Archie Collins is doing well there right now.

If anything, clubs in the past have paid too little for our players - Watkins to Brentford, Ampadu to Chelsea, Grimes to Swansea, and many of our academy products were taken for nothing or a pittance because of the system

Can’t really add much more than this. Was clearly a very talented player but was really raw when at us. If Basel have developed him well you’ll have a real player

After being told by the new ownership there’s money to spend we’ve bought in just one player in the last month and now looks like we’re trying to get a few cheap loans and free agents through the door. Abankwah from Udinese and Tennai Watson looking the most strong rumours. Worryingly Blackett Taylor has been rumoured with a move away which would be nothing short of a disaster

Another rumoured outgoing is that Newcastle want our 17 year old wonder kid, Travis Hernes. Push them for a seven figure fee and a big sell on I hope. Frustrating though as they’ll only let him rot in their U21’s squad.

We sold a wonderkid there last week, got £200k so probably similar unfortunately! Hopefully the sell on's etc come in to play in the future.

Wonder what if anything we have tied into the deal when Man City took Ndala who is looking pretty likely to make a decent move at some point.

It’s been confirmed by our local reporter that we have a 20% sell on fee. Disappointing that he’s going as I reckon he could have made 25-30 first team appearances this season which isn’t bad for a 17 year old. Ah well… can’t stand in the lads way when a Prem club like Newcastle come calling. I’m just hoping that we reinvest some of the money today.

We are set to sign Josh Williams on loan from Birmingham - another right wing-back. Our other loanee there is apparently out for 2 months!!!

We are just having no luck with injuries at the moment.
