Just be careful about the birds Jolley brings back to the flat. I'd check their ID if I were you.
Could you be talking about the same Jolley who used to be on Lincoln’s books?
Or does that not count because it was pre Ipswich?

He’s Jolley well ignoring the fact it seems the little scamp.

All gone very quiet on the transfer front for us. No ins or outs even rumoured. Think Reilly to Gillingham is one that might occur soon though.

Marc Bola to Notts?
He’s just changed his Twitter pic to when he was last at Notts?
Hardy saying there will be another signing today although it seems this is another youngster.
RBish?

If we sign Bola, it probably means Dan Jones is off

He was never on our books.

Holdsworth brought him in on a voluntary basis for a week or two while another coach was absent.

Jones is very injury prone so makes sense to have two first team left backs. Plus Bola can defend better as well. Also he's only 19/20 so fits in with the young prospect Hardy mentioned?

Outlaws are a very good side!

Looks like O'Connor could be off to Lincoln. Dan Jones is expected to re-sign according to Leigh Curtis

Not surprised at Occy as he left us to drop down a division to be closer to his Lincoln home so slowly worked his way East!

Would be slightly miffed and very disappointed if O’Connor doesn’t sign, he makes such a difference as he showed at tail end of season. He’s just the sort of foot on the ball midfielder we need alongside a Hewitt / Yates type

Curtis is often pretty accurate, so do you think this is likely even though he has had a long lay off with a serious injury?

God knows. He's been offered a deal and is our club captain. I expect he'd be a starter if he stayed. Just comes down to cash / location now

Edit: Curtis is usually accurate and is a friend of O'Connors

We had O'Connor on loan for a short spell about 10 years ago under Peter Jackson and was a stand-out in our midfield at the time, so it was no surprise he ended up in the Championship and L1 for the most part. I'm assuming he played with Frecklington for 2 or 3 years as well.

He's 32 now, so with him, Freck and Bostwick, that an, erm, experienced midfield albeit a good one. We're apparently in for Anthony Grant from Posh as well, and he's 31!

Suspect we've probably offered him less than his current deal as he is now 2 years older and obviously suffered a very serious injury, which may or may not reoccur, I don't know if having one ACL makes another more likely? But I suspect that's why he's looking elsewhere if true. Wouldn't have thought he'd be a guaranteed starter at Lincoln as they seem to be strong in CM but I suppose Woodyard has just gone...

It's not an exact science but generally if you've had one go, the other side will generally go as well. I think Jimmy Spencer had both go and it's pretty much done his career in so would suspect we have offered less terms this time around.

What Curtis actually said was: "Understand O’Connor has several offers on the table. It was interesting to hear Danny Cowley at Lincoln give an interview last week talking about signing quality players who are available on a free transfer and that age and location are important. Given they’ve just sold Woodyard there’s an opening there in midfield and Michael lives just outside Lincoln. I would not be surprised at all if they try to sign him."

Standard two sentence response that has nothing to do with what we were talking about when I took the time to make a well constructed post. It has been a pleasure, but thanks. I'm out. You have nothing to offer.
Well you made the weird "stag do" metaphor, or whatever it was...

Hahaha that's tenuous at best.

He was here for about 2 months at most and it's impossible to find anything about him and Lincoln on Google beside Jolley's self-penned Wikipedia page. I only know the duration because he cropped up on the team photo (August, everyone was asking who the hell he was) and then disappeared without a trace, I think around September/October. It was during the crazy days of Reg Holdsworth when we had a different player coming in every week. Always fun to turn up on a Saturday at 2:55 with no idea who would be playing. This was back when you could stroll up with minutes to go before kickoff and choose any seat you wanted. Staffing was similar. We had all manner of random people coming in to do a bit of coaching for free as we were so skint we would take anything or anyone.

Edit, as Luke says it was unpaid/voluntary, presumably so Jolley could get some experience (I hope he forgot all he learnt from Holdsworth though) and we got some free cover to put the cones out and collect the bibs at the end.

Apparently O'Connor turns 31 in October. Bossie has just turned 30 so would be the youngest of the 4.

Easily in top 3 Vale midfielders of the last decade. Class player is O'Connor.

O’Connor was terrific for us though the one knock always had against him was his lack of discipline. He would get some really daft bookings at times. Other than that is a really good player for any team at this level.

We've signed a young striker called Louis Robles.

Not a clue about him, was a youth player at Liverpool and Wigan but played in Spain most recently. Could be a gem, could be garbage, not a clue. Fits in well with SOC's stag do team, I just hope he's not the guy who gets pissed on the plane on the way and ends up shitting his pants.

Notts County fans, I know he was shit for you but what sort of player is Graham Burke?

Can't work out if he's a striker, a wideman or an attacking midfielder.

Looks like we might be taking a punt on him.

He played as an attacking midfielder for us.

He was clearly talented and had a lovely left foot at times - but his application failed to match his undoubted skills.

Surprised he's playing international football and back being linked with a decent level to be honest - but if he's sorted his attitude out he could certainly be a good player.
