Someone ITK has said to me he’ll sign in the next 48 hours.

I do hope it’s true!

Argyle fan had a selfie with Ryan Lowe in the club shop... who’s stood behind him in the photo? Danny Mayor :woo:
Maybe he was just there trying to snag a discount on a 2018 ginsters pasty?

Omar Sowunmi now getting linked to us as well. An Ohman/Sowunmi CB pairing would be proper nails.

When did it first start using proper names? 94/95. There was one version you could have a cheat mode. I can remember Simon Davies being a decent player. i properly didn't start on it due to Uni and the fact i didn't have an Amiga until 2001/2 which seems to be the vintage year
Wait you didn't have an Amiga until 2001/02? Do you mean that's what you had until then? I was the same but got a PC earlier, had an Amiga in the early/mid 90s and then my Dad bought a PC. So I went from Premier Manager 2 to CM 96/97 and 97/98 and just rinsed them for ages at various points in my life taking a hiatus until FM2007 and then in 2011 moved out of the country and promised myself I wouldn't take it with me as it would keep inside not doing things.

I think a few of them had cheats. In one of the 90s ones I played, if you got a bid accepted and then went to adjust the bid, if you dropped it all the way to 0 and hit cancel, the transfer went through as a free. Used to piss my sister right off when she was watching Neighbours and I was clicking 20M bids down to 0.

"DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT?!"
"YES, I'M ABOUT TO GET IBRAHIMA BAKAYOKO ON A FREE!!"

Couple of our players have started following Elliott Durrell on twitter and he has tweeted a fingers crossed Emoji... could be nothing who knows but heavily linked due to the Askey connection.

Danny Whitaker has just turned 23 but already played over 1,200 professional games, really hoping he doesn't burn out before the peak years of his career.

Dale Hill. 20yr old chicken farmer from Pocklington is one of the trialists we’ll be running the rule over. He’s never played 11 aside at any level before but apparently he’s a good futsal player and impressed when adapting to 11 aside at our open trials.
Apparently he’s turned down your contract offer as it was too poultry.

Has anyone else noticed how every time a team signs a player, he always should be a good addition. Even if he's played two professional games or he's come from somewhere terrible like Yeovil or Morecambe. No-one ever says what a pointless, underwhelming, League Two waste of space, waste of a click piece of business they have just completed. We've just signed a 36 year old with no knees. He will really bring on the lads who still have knees, totally worth the wage of a full time pro. Should be a good signing.
You should have a quick delve into the Bantams Forum. Apart from themselves nobody else has made any decent signings - at all - and how they haven’t got any rivals this season. Well, maybe a bit of ‘Mansfield look OK’.

Everyone else is canon fodder for the City machine!

In all fairness, there hasn’t been much activity from clubs who I would expect to be up there - apart from the odd decent signing.

Although, I don’t know enough about L2 to understand how strong the league is with the players said clubs already have, either.

Just to clarify, nobody who follows Bradford City A.F.C. thinks next season will be a walkover.

We expect to bounce back straight away, but no one is underestimating how difficult it will be.

Gonna be hilarious when they don't go up. Also someone needs to tell them the real deal regarding Mansfield's outrageous spending...

Andy Cook could do well for Mansfield (free from Walsall).

...not even Conker is trying to pull that one.

I’m not having a dig - quite rightly, you should be up in the top 3. I just think reality will bite you when the games start. It’s a tough old league.

We’re all in L2 for a reason, quite a few it’s their level, some are really decent National League clubs, some have been shafted by either dodgy or incompetent owners. A handful have just been particularly shite these past couple of years.

Be fun to see how it all shapes up.

Is this the second time you’ve tried making out we think we’re better than everyone else?
Like a few weeks ago after the last attempt, no one thinks we’re going to walk anything after the 6/7 years we were here last time, stop trying to put words in our mouths.

Apart from these

‘At this stage I think Mansfield are our greatest threat. Nobody else's squad looks good enough, but there's still a long way to go.’

‘Nobody. There is nobody in this tin pot division that we should even think about, never mind consider a rival.’

The 2nd ones by a wum, as we've tried to tell you before.

Regarding the first sentence, look at the highlighted part there's a clue there.

I only looked at that one thread. My point quoting those 2 was in response to this

‘no one thinks we’re going to walk anything after the 6/7 years we were here last time, stop trying to put words in our mouths.’

Nothing wrong with the first one and I actually agree. I'd say currently Exeter, Mansfield, and Newport along with us have the strongest squads. Clubs like Plymouth, Salford and Walsall, who I expected to be top 7, haven't really done much at all in the window.

Truth is,I don't think we can make any assumptions until the start of the season when the majority of squads are complete.

Already playing the victim card and whining. Classic Bradford. It's like one in/one out with Lincoln going up. Is it mandatory that we have a team of snowflake fans in this division?

The original poster on that thread stated -

"If you look on paper we have defo done the best transfer market business so far or am i being over confident about the coming season ?"

I personally think Northampton have done the most eye-opening business, although that's probably as they have concluded the most deals early.

FWIW I think Bradford have made some solid signings and are almost certainly going to be in the top 6 this season. I don't really like the budget discussion but given they have the biggest stadium, best support and therefore, I would have thought, the biggest income in the league, its not really a surprise that their fans are so confident.

That said, be very wary of the curse of Notts County (I don't seriously expect lightning to strike twice here though)

Moan if we say we’re massive, moan if we’re realistic and say we’re in for a slog, make your minds up ffs.

The thing I’m trying to get across, in my own clumsy fashion,is it’s fine Bradford thinking they’ve made the best signings, it’s the disregard of every other club whose players, or at least the vast majority of them, they have never heard of yet alone know what they’re like.

I just think it’s going to take more than a couple of vintage names up front to make a statement in L2.

Go easy, he's from Grimsby. They've only just stated coming out of the sea and evolving into mammals over there.

From Mansfield perspective we have a settled squad full of really good players for this level, so hardly any activity is needed - Bradford have likely already signed double what we will for the
entire summer,

Also Newport squad does not seem particularly strong to me?

I cannot deal with another group of fans wanting a pat on the back for the entire season like Lincoln did.

It kind of already did with us, the year before Chesterfield made what looked like a few good signings in pre-season and their fans were expecting a good year.

Can’t see it striking three times though.

Sorry I got it wrong on my earlier post, it's a £150,000 fee but it's purely add-ons and a installment every January for the next four years, pretty much identical to the deal Grimsby paid for Danny Rose on my FM save.

Lightening certainly can strike twice - although quite rare.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about us possibly replicating Notts County next season, but I still struggle to grasp the comparison in circumstance.
