One of the most sickening goals I've ever witnessed tbh, watching lucky Grimsby celebrating knowing that was it game over and our deserved promotion had gone up in smoke. Fucking horrible

Any FGR fans going to this please be careful where you step, last time I was in Lincoln the pavements were all covered in dog shit.
Now, now! Put the rod away.
Didn't see a drop on Saturday. Just puddles of flegm all over the pavement, dirty sods.

I was so completely gutted for FGR that day that it took the gloss off our promotion to be honest, especially with you being so gracious all complimentary about GTFC all throughout that season, my heart was bleeding for you that day mucker I even went and bought a bottle of head and shoulders from a service station on the way home in tribute to you.

:fl: Fuck off you sarcy git.

You gotta admit we were head and shoulders above you most of that season though, finished 12 points ahead wasn't it?

And that was after your lot were unbearable that year, project promotion, champions in July etc. It just felt so unfair after all that effort and epic El Glosico title battle to have you nip in and steal our thunder.

Think you were 12 points ahead of us last season during a certain game...

Yeah of course over the course of the season you were better hence the 12 point deficit although both games between us that year were very tight with nothing really between us, you were obviously more consistent against the other teams whilst we dropped points against most of the bottom half annoyingly.

Edit just checked the table from that year and out of the bottom 8 teams we dropped points to 7 of them, (18 points dropped total against them) only Welling did we beat home and away, that's pretty awful to be honest!!

Season changing.
Gave us the belief to do all the things we did last season and this one too.

Maybe this game will be the one that does the same for us this season.

getting promoted through several attempts at the playoffs is pathetic imo, the best way to do it is to be dogshit for 5 years, almost get relegated, then decide to win the league when it suits you.

I notice on our forum that Jules the Imp has twice requested a FGR volunteer to answer his Q & A leaflet for game.
Jules does a very impressive job for the Imps and must be congratulated for his hard work.
However I suspect he is struggling to get something worthwhile from FGR because both clubs know each other so well from Conference days and his questions have all generally been previously asked and answered.

Lincoln get a lot of grief about their ground for various reasons but I will say that it is one of those that I enjoy visiting.
The Dambuster theme played just before the players walk onto pitch sets the hairs standing on the back of my neck.
That in itself is half a goal advantage to the home side.
And only a couple of years ago when Lincoln had less than half the supporters at game as at present, I was impressed with a small section [plus their drummer] who sang for the entire game.

I just hope the Lincoln players and especially Reid have grown up should Lincoln score and celebrate with their own fans rather than be utterly offensive to the visiting away supporters. He diminished his own standing when he did that to us at the last meeting at Sincel Park.

Hate it when players from either side celebrate in front the other set of fans, totally unnecessary IMHO.
Was a lot of our fans moaning when the Coventry players did it forgetting Rheady & co did more than once last season.
Yeah things have totally at Lincoln, we're hoping for 9000 home fans again tomorrow.
Don't get the comments on our style of play, for example our opening goal on boxing day was from a lovely through ball along the ground from Rheady into Greeny's run but Stevenage's manager said it was a ball 'crashed' in behind their defence when it was nothing of the sort.
Have noticed when we beat teams we're a big physical direct team but when lose the opposition manager says what nice football we play....
Hmmm,....
It's Sincil Bank BTW.

I had no idea we got a lot of grief for our ground. Most say it's a good L2 one. Aside from people occasionally commenting on the Echo Stand, which wasn't supposed to end up like that anyway, I can't say I've heard anything else.

Btw the vital Lincoln forum is a joke. Took the time to register last year and then got banned after 1 post. AND I was blocked by their twitter as well.

Seems they're too up themselves for bantz.

Did that actually happen? I mean, it didn't take a genius to work out they'd be lesser supported sides than FGR this season.

On Cooper, I didn't expect everyone to be jumping up and down but usually you'd see a few, 'well, he got us up, he's in credit' type posts but there didn't seem to be any when I checked, albeit briefly. Seemed to be a split between how you play but Cooper just being a prick and dismissive of anyone who dares to question him.

The people who hold Cooper in credit are, by and large, those who say we are struggling because of our playing style. They struggle to see the correlation and heaven forbid you link the causation. It's like the manager and his style of play have no association with each other. I expect many of these types are those who think FGR were founded in 2010.

According to Wikipedia we have won something called the Conference Championship Shield, in 1988.

Not sure what that was. Bring back the Setanta Shield.

I'm utterly convinced FGR's Setanta Shield penalty defeat against Telford was a work. I've never seen a FGR side miss so many straightforward chances.

I like his style of play, it's his propensity to fall out with the players who might make it work concerns me, like Racine and i suspect clough.

Racine and Clough are probably better than what we currently have, pity they still aren't with us, they were a really good defensive partnership.

To be honest style of play wise we try and play passing football and we're bottom, keep doing what you're doing as it's clearly working!

One of the most one sided penalty shoot outs I have ever seen.

Yep, and it's as much the constant change or chucking young loanees in that doesn't help.

There is only one name on the teamsheet that never seems to change.

I agree that the chopping, changing and use of kids isn't helping. Then we have the unproven players like Bugiel, Monthe and Mullings who have stepped up and aren't delivering (the first possibly through lack of time). Throw the experienced and crazily inconsistent Laird into the mix, plus Mark Roberts and you've the story of our season. The only ones looking capable of EFL football are Osborne, Traore (when fit), Doidge and Lee Collins. Wishart is getting there.

A side really has to be utterly dire to go down from League Two. DV either must have complete faith in MC, can't afford to pay him off (doubtful) or is being sold a pup.

Apologies. I meant the location of club, which even the Imps don't like.

Ah right, well we should be better placed within the City in 5(!) years or so. Hopefully. Maybe. We'll see...
