Good to hear, glad we tried another new formation too. 3-5-2 could work well with Kinsella/Henry.

People will probably think I'm deluded, but I can honestly say I think I'm more excited about Rico Henry than I am Tom Bradshaw next season. Don't get me wrong, I love super T, but I can see big things from Henry. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have an amazin debut season and then go on to be sold next summer for £1m+ to a Premier league side - Villa or Albion probably being a good fit. Didn't Villa send a scout to him? Literally just turned 18 a fortnight ago and everytime I've seen him, he's looked a class above anyone in our side.
Exact same today. Not only is he class, he is a brick as well, multiple times today he got clattered or fouled - he bounced straight back up every time. Didn't roll on the ground, he just got on with the game. He will play in the premier league 1 day, he is too good not too.

Steady on, but I know what you are saying. The fact that he has only been 18 for a couple of weeks is absolutely staggering. He has been quality whenever I've seen him. Hope he signs a big contract and plays 30+ games next season. Taylor needs to be in his best form should Smith decide to play a flat back 4 next season. Hopefully that brings the best out in him too.

Some good comments on the WBA forum tonight...

"Walsall were the better side overall, don't know how they didn't score"

"Walsall played some lovely stuff"

uninspiring 2-1 win at Halifax for us. Tbf we were comfortable first half and were 2-0 up at the break, then we give a few triallists and fringe players a go 2nd half.

Following on from what I would describe as our most likely starting 11 beating Birmingham City our 2nd string lost 2-1 to virtually a full Leicester City side last night. The results are not important in themselves but the performances as in all pre-season games so far have been very encouraging.

Half time and we are beating a very strong Sunderland side 1-0 without a single striker playing for us. Can't see it lasting as the bench is the youth team.

Lost 4-0 to Middlesbrough tonight. Not our strongest line-up but still quite a few starters in the line-up.

Won 2-0 against a very strong Sunderland side, played very well, not sure how much that says about us or them

We beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 at home tonight. Madden scoring two, Van Veen getting one and Wootton getting one too.

We looked very good, this 3-5-2 is working so far in pre-season. Clarke and Laird played very well at wing backs and our front three of Van Veen, Madden and Hopper looked very dangerous.

Gills 1- 2 Brighton. Dack.

Out played them for an hour, looked impressive especially 1st half.

As for dack he ran the show again, we will struggle to keep hold of him he is destined for much bigger things

For an hour we were excellent, should've been out of sight. All fell apart a bit when Houghton went off and we started to bypass the midfield.

How has Andy Williams looked in pre-season Donny fans?
Good movement against Forest and Middlesbrough but Ayala kicked lumps out of him so he wasn't fit for the Sunderland game. It's hard to judge as we haven't played who I would expect to start along side him yet.

Thanks DVR. I personally liked N'Guessan at Swindon so there is potential for those two to work well, although I would imagine N'Guessan will play on the left or right. Certainly goals in those two.

The problem with both Williams and N'Guessan is that they are both fine when things are going well but next to useless when not.

We play Notts County in a friendly tonight and we've already announced our squad. It's mostly youth players with a few second string players put in there which means I am not holding much hope for winning. I imagine this is because we're playing Lincoln tomorrow and Robins wants to play our first team then.

3 of our back 4 were trialists.

No idea how we lost, it was so one-sided. Whoever your number 4 was needs a big hug, never seen a player look more out of his depth in a friendly, he mistimed a good 10 tackles and would've been sent off 3 times in a normal game.

Good luck for the season anyway Mr Don :)
