We lost 1-0 to Blackburn tonight. Got another friendly tomorrow against Preston.

More worryingly Madden and Croasdale apparently both hobbled down the tunnel and Sarcevic had a scan on an ankle issue this week.

So that’s potentially Madden, Wootton, Chadwick, Stretton, Hippolyte, Croasdale, Collar and Sarcevic all missing next week. The DM we have had in with us on trial and seemingly want to sign us also injured.

We’re fucked.

Wrexham and Stockport being sidelined out of contention.

We drew 1-1 with Philadelphia Union II, but a large storm hit Philly during the game delaying the 2nd half for hours which I'd imagine was a bit of a leveller.

Home to Plymouth this afternoon. I’ll pop along to cast an eye over the reported Rhys Bennett who’s on trial. Gordon Bennett seems a more accurate moniker. Be glad to get these phoney games out of the way and smash Colchester next week and ram it up Garner’s arse.

We beat West Brom’s kids 2-0. Decent performance, and we actually scored twice for the first time in ages. Trialist A (rumoured to be Darnell Johnson) & Dom Bernard got our goals.
I'm a bit more positive after that game, you could see what the new manager is trying to get the team to do and in the main it was effective, a fairly decent performance against a youthful West Brom side. My main concern is scoring goals as I don't really think Stevens and Omotoye really are the answer...although I will not criticise their effort last night...but as you point out, we did find the back of the net twice and Dom Bernard's was an absolute banger!

That Trialist A guy must be really shit as I’ve seen him turn out for loads of different clubs this pre season but he never gets signed anywhere.

Don't forget to buy him flowers first.

Once the season kicks off usually ends up playing in the Scottish lower divisions I think.

Trialist is our joint leading scorer this pre-season tbf.

Pretty flat performance I thought, even before the storm-- the travelling and oppressive heat being a factor I guess. Even then we should have been comfortably ahead at HT nothing wrong with the Dalby 'goal' that was chalked off and we should have been out of sight really.

Second half can probably be entirely disregarded given the circumstances and who we brought on.

A rather convenient friendly away at oldham this afternoon, though would be rude not to attend.

Good test for our lot just over t’Pennines - Rochdale away!

It’ll be interesting to see if Hughes starts the same starting XI as per Middlesborough last Wednesday, as it’ll give us an idea who might start against Crawley on the opening day.

Around a 1,000 travelling over - nice day for it. I’ll be in Leeds getting tanked up.

Shrewsbury away for us. Good test, mid table L1 team and we may see something close to a starting eleven for next week, or maybe not and he'll keep us guessing.

Jake Young of Bradford trialling for us today. Very much seems like a punt looking at what I've read from Bradford and Barrow fans historically.

Strange not heard anything this end. Feel free to take him though. Knowing our luck it’ll be another Eoin Doyle!

0-0 at half time between us and Rochdale. Really poor half. Neither team doing anything.

4-0 up at ht against a Newcastle United U21 side that Carlisle struggled to beat 2-0 last week.

Losing 1-0 at half-time in Fleetwood. We are full strength, no idea about them. Seems we've been OK but can't score.

Let’s not be under any illusions here - this Newcastle side is beyond piss poor. One of the kids can barely kick it half the pitch. Can’t really see what’s to be gained from this match.

Beat Plymouth 3-1. Goals for Kemp, Hepburn-Murphy and Wakeling. Apparently it wasn't Young we had on trial Bradford fans. Chinese whispers lost in translation clearly!

Relatively straightforward 3-0 away at oldham, who were, well shit

With the standard the conference has been the last few seasons it’s hard to draw any conclusions, though bowery most certainly shouldn’t be starting CB next week.

Beat Port Vale 1-0, I thought it was away but was at home, we have a behind closed doors game against Huddersfield on Tuesday left, having seen the lineup for today I haven’t a clue what our starting 11 will be now

Lost away at Barnsley 2-1. They scored in the first 2 mins of each half, Shirlow Tracy pulled us one back for us. Charlie "made of glass" Colckett went off injured.

Drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury but sounded like we were pretty dominant throughout with two goals disallowed. McGoldrick with another cracker, think we’re in a decent place going into next week.
