Oh so now the antics have all of a sudden started to wear on Mansfield fans , today of all days :pmsl:

Regardless he’s probably still Mansfield most successful manager for at least a few decades :woo:

Phil brown is the early favourite. Seems popular with the fans right now.

Rule us out of the top 3 though now

Oh how very humble of you. Most of us did that months ago pal don't fret :err:

The Cowleys have (or had) a massive release clause in their deals. No current L2 Club would be able to afford it and that's before their contracts. Not that I think Radford would even consider approaching anyway.

As for Evans, and as mentioned, he flirts around all the time with Clubs and has previous with this sort of thing so it's no surprise in that respect although I thought he'd see it out at Mansfield to be honest. Fry's been after him for years and years but I'm not entirely sure he suits the style MacAnthony wants from his sides either. That said, he's desperate to get back to the Championship (he always come across as feeling as though Posh should be there for some reason) and Evans is a winner and given the financial resources relative to the division you'd fancy him to get them there providing he's given the time, which they don't really seem to give.

From the outside, it never came across as though Evans and Mansfield fans got on anyway. More a case of Mansfield fans tolerating Evans because of results (although not earlier in the season when he was coming in for a bit of stick).

Leaves Mansfield well placed, though. The new guy just has to keep things ticking over as they are for the time being and not change anything.

Not ideal for Grimsby either. I'm not saying they'll be after the same managers but those better options on the list for Grimsby might now have turned their heads towards Field Mill.
Realistically though, is Rashford going to want the younger manager that we’re after or is he going to want a guaranteed winner to get Mansfield over the line? Would be just our luck to find a perfect candidate and him end up going there!

I thought Evans would stick it out at Mansfield too, not out of loyalty just because he had promotion in his sights. Clearly MacAnthony has more of a hold on him than previously thought.

Maybe we aren’t looking too deeply into this, perhaps he just ran out of local restaurants to sample.

Mansfield was always a short term stepping stone for him but it’s awful timing by Fatty Fat Boy, you’ve gotta feel a lot of sympathy for Mr Radford. Talk about being let down.

I can't realistically expect him to want to go for the cheap option after what he's put into evans (pies mainly). But when adam Murray left, steve evans was already lined up, having been caught cold this time round it won't be so easy. As I and others have said though, it's a cracking oppurtunity for someone to come in.

As soon as the Posh job became available he was always going to accept. Only lives 10 minutes from the ground apparently? Quite liked having him as manager personally. Didn't mind his antics he's just passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve when on the touchline. Also found it quite amusing on here with the banter about him and Raynor.

He wasn't genuinely liked by many, but I think that's because of his success rate. Yes owners with money go for him and he goes for the rich owners, but with his success rate why wouldn't they go for him? We were certainly in a much, much better place when we left than when he arrived.

Big loss for Mansfield which ever way its dressed up. If Kevin Nolan was not at Notts I would have loved him here, he's a winner.
Also He's a character in the game of which seems to get fewer as the years go by.

The Cowleys are a flash in the pan, can't see them repeating there success elsewhere.

Why is losing Evans such a big loss? He's not that good. I think another manager stands a good chance of doing even better with this group of players. He's better in the transfer market than he is a coach.

That’s slightly unfair Stringy. Since Evans came in, a lot of players (Hamilton, Rose, Pearce to name 3) have improved a lot. Obviously doing something right with them on the training ground.

Indeed, they did.

I thought he wasn't tactically as good as he made out, he had a lot of failings, which I imagine would be laid bare at a higher level (it was a big complaint of the Leeds fans)

He's useless. Absolutely clueless and he tries to hide his incompetence by being overly aggressive.

How he continues to steal a wage from these clubs is a mystery to me.

Apart from the fact that they have been successful at Concorde, Braintree and now at Lincoln. So even though that's relative to where they have managed, they have been involved in 4 promotions and one play off season in a short managerial career. They have a big win to loss ratio wherever they have been in charge.

I think you are doing them a disservice there, they took part time Braintree to within a whisker of the play off final and but for a brain fart from one of their defenders tugging at Gowlings shirt they would have been in the final, and they then took Lincoln, bottom half for 5 successive seasons, to a runaway title romp.
I think they deserve a lot more credit than just calling them a 'flash in the pan'.

A win ratio of circa 55% over 11 years, 3 Clubs and 475 odd games isn't bad going either. Hell of a flash in the pan, that!

Playing with better players must help, although I'm impressed by Hamilton's improvement.

At lower league level he’s a successful shit stain on any club who employs him

It could work out well for the Stags in the short term due to a talented squad for this level, confidence and they have momentum. They would of gone up under Fatty McCheat for sure . Long term not so sure Cos that must be quiet a wage bill at Field Mill especially with that level of home attendance.

Now it’s big pressure on Radford for the next appointment, which way will he go. He may even double down and financially back the next guy to a similar level after being screwed by the two fat boy mercenaries

No idea. He’s resigned so not sure how it works. He has shat all over Radford here. Anyway JR wants a quick appointment apparently, Phil Brown was the favourite but now joint with David Flitcroft who wasn’t even on the betting list.

Should Mansfield and Posh be in the same league as expected next season, I'm sure they will get a nice reception at the One Call

Without a doubt. He’s been moaning about a small minority for weeks who apparently sit behind the home dugout and berate him and Raynor. He’s not heard the vitriol that Mansfield fans can spout and he’ll certainly hear it should he ever bring a team here. Hope he regrets moving the dugouts to the other side of the pitch.

Exactly, the fans can be very vocal and he's not heard the half of us.

It'll certainly be interesting if we play Peterborough next season

Not interested in flitcroft, over-rated and not a popular manager with fans.

He has beaten evans twice this season, but he's equally ungracious in victory

Mansfield fans are a incredibly passionate lot, and so is Evans.

Hence the clashes during home games.

Never understand why managers take on the crowd, your days are always numbered no matter who you are, who the club is and what division you're in.

The fans are the club, chairman, managers and players will come and go, but not the fans - you only have 1 true club (unless you're odd). Take them on at your peril.

Flitcroft comes in as favourite out of nowhere. Can't see that, unless he's desperate to move back up north.

What do Swindon fans think of him? Bury always played decent football, but they never seemed keen. Swindon (in the game at Field Mill), played the best football i've seen this season from an opposition team.
