Agree but he's more suited to a 3-5-2 for me. Think I'd prefer BOO in a back 4 which currently I think we will go for on Saturday.

From the handful of pre-season games it looks like BOO and Brophy have progressed in pre-season and they could work well on the left this season (hopefully)

That team scares the crap out of me.

It doesn't worry me that much. Jones and Reid out wide will cause problems, Vlad has looked decent, and Sordell, well who knows, so looking OK going forward. Looks a bit iffy at the back, but that team is capable of getting a result on Saturday. Just got to hope we can pick up some points in August - as I feel we will be much stronger in a few weeks. Still a few to come in I think. Season far from a write off.

I think a draw is probably the likely outcome now it seems we aren't going to be signing anyone. Lets hope nobody gets injured in training this week.

1-1 (Obika)

I'm off to Cornwall for a week. Was gutted at first, now I'm not sure I want to be there on Saturday!

Got my ticket. I've got 12 minutes in the 'Defensive Howler' raffle.

Our quality is getting diluted season by season as the good players are replaced by the hopeful cheapos. If you look at the likes of Bristol Rovers, Oxford and Luton we are a very similar club who could easily end up out of the league.

I have absolutely no faith in Power progressing the club - don't think he is interested in results at all. Just as long as we are a vehicle to showcase the occasional playing asset that may bring him some more money.

But fuck him. He isn't going to put me off supporting my club.

Chris Stokes who was missing this game due to suspension now need an operation so could be out for up to 3 months.

Leaves us with Willis, Ricketts, Harries and Leaghy as centre back options.

Will be interesting to see how many home fans show up. Got a feeling the lack of signings might be a result of many supporters sticking 2 fingers up to power and his methods.
A few of us havent renewed this year because power is just milking the club.
For me he stepped over the line with the training ground. The legacy that was left to the club was for precisely that project. Our chairman buying a field then leasing it to the club using the legacy money to pay himself is just wrong. He needs to go a football club shouldnt be run to fund his player agency.

This year we will go down its just a case of will it be as bad as that danny wilson season.

I will return and its still my club just need a chairman who has a balanced approach.

Don't think the Eady money has been used. Power didn't want any outside involvement in his golf course purchase.

He's a strange one, though. He seems to go out of his way to alienate the fan base. I don't buy the view of some of our fans that there is no alternative. Under Power there is no alternative, for sure. There's no guarantee that any new owner would be any more benign, but at tge moment it seems that all the fun has been sucked out of supporting Swindon. It's flat, uninspiring and no prospect of things improving any time soon.

I'll still go but it's down to habit really.

Jeez.....

Mowbray has dropped a huge bollock releasing Martin.

I said this on our forum about Martin: Would've kept him but Mowbray doesn't rate him. I suppose he's not dominant enough to be the central centre half in a back three and not good enough on the ball to be one of the wide centre backs.

I think it's similar to Vincelot in that he doesn't fit the system.

Well, I'm kinda looking forward to Saturday - come what may. Coventry have sold out so nearly 2000 fans travelling - great numbers.

Despite all the hoo-ha from both sets of fans regarding lack of incomings, it'll be a decent game. Don't have a clue regarding the outcome.

Michael Doughty and Lloyd Jones sign on season long loans and possibly Keshi Anderson to follow. Doughty and Jones will almost certainly start tomorrow. First eleven relatively strong now, much more confident.

Is he your youngish full back? He looked like a rabbit in the headlights vs us in the JPT last season. I take it he's improved?

Last season was his first as a pro as we took him from non-league.

He has definitely improved and I actually really rate him.

Tbf, that team was just about the worst XI I've ever seen take the field for us. We had 10 first team players out.

Brophy is a rapid ginger kid who really improved at the arse-end of last season. He's my tip for Power's next pension top-up.

Funny how a bit of perseverance can help with young players. I thought he looked quite good on the ball, but perhaps the crowd got to him a bit. Will keep an eye out for him this season.( But not too closely obviously..)

Yeah, to be honest when I first saw him I thought he looked pretty crap but he has improved and looks a handy young player. In a couple of pre-season games he seems to have added that trick some full backs do to fool the marker and cut inside. Big season for James Brophy.

Won a bit of cash today after being given a tip.

FFS, I've just had £100 @ 50/1 for Swindon to win the League.

Fool and his money and all that!

Looking at the interactive seating plan it looks like we could be in for a 10,000 ish attendance tomorrow.

Wonder how many latecomers will attend on the back of these signings.

Probably no one wants to play for us because our academy is on the brink of folding and we look to be without a home stadium to play in after the next two seasons.
