I'm not sure I'll be able to cope watching us lose to Ipswich in the play offs.

So many times this season, having accepted that automatic promotion isn't going to happen, the goings on in games have made me doubt myself and believe even a tiny bit that automatic was still on only for late goals to leave me feeling so foolishly naive.

Did Karanka really send Dimi up for a corner at 3-3? A point would have kept them in second and piled the pressure on us.

A huge gamble but surely not one worth taking in the circumstances, (Speaking with hindsight obviously) it's unlikely we'll win both tbh

That's what makes it horrible. If Middlesborough had hammered Fulham today then that hope wouldn't have been there to be trampled upon.

Feel a bit flat after that. With Bournemouth knowing they'll be going into the final day in 2nd place regardless of how they do on Monday, I feel they'll play without that extra little bit of pressure and probably get the job done against Bolton. If we could've hung on, they're back chasing again to get into those promotion places, and maybe they would've faltered like the Sheff Wed game.

Gutting that Ipswich scored late on today. Need either them or Derby to lose on the final day, and us to win. (To overtake Ipswich, either their loss or our win has to be by 2 goals). Not totally impossible, but only a very small chance.

Still think those two teams will get the points they need, but what a season!!

I think I will hate Darren Bent forever though, that Derby equaliser will haunt me.

Rotherham had 23 shots to our 6.

IF we do make the playoffs, it's going to be that goal that got us there. MASSIVE

We've conceded 7 goals in two games, because we're so incapable of defending. It seems to be getting worse with every game, which makes me very worried about next week. Can quite easily see Brentford or Wolves knocking us out of the top six for the first time since September.

Monday. If Bournemouth...
... win: they're promoted (that GD won't be overturned) and still have a shot at the title
... draw: both title and automatic promotion battles go to the last day with them being able to finish anywhere from 1st to 4th
... lose: Watford win the title, automatic promotion battle goes to the last day with 1 point separating them/Middlesbrough/Norwich

So potentially, you have two of the most exciting footballing teams in England right now in Watford and Bournemouth going for the top 2. You have probably a big clash of Middlesbrough vs Derby in the play offs, with an East Anglian derby of Norwich vs Ipswich in the other fixture. All this whilst Brentford and Wolves missing out with a incredible point tally that in any other season would see them challenging for automatic promotion.

Who cares for the Prem, this is the most exciting division in the world for me.

I've hated the last two months. I can't remember going through such a horrible spell of games.

Monumental fuck up.

This. It's been horrible.

I'll be glad when the seasons over, whether that's next Saturday or two games further down the line.

Wow!

Cannot believe we have done it!

Typically has to be Mr McCormack scoring the goal to send us up after his strike for Leeds in 2013 prevented promotion.

The realistion going into it that it would either be one of the best, or worst days of your life, depending on the result.

Fuck that.

I don't think London could cope with so many people in the city with farmer accents. :gmc:

In all seriousness, how would the police impose restrictions on public travel? Could be disastrous.

I don't particularly want to go to Wembley and lose again thank you very much.
Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if we fail to make the top six. Horrible last 10 weeks we've had.

I've seen some prety low points as a Derby fan, but apart from that one moment at Wembley last May, nothing comes close to these last few months.

If falling from the automatic promotion spots into the play-offs is the lowest you've been supporting Derby you've had it pretty fucking good.

Not really. Do you not remember the 11 point season? There's many low points, but this just feels worse because the expectation was there.

Early 2000's were pretty shit too, given we nearly went bust when the three amigos were in control.

In the last decade, I reckon every other club in this league has either had a promotion campaign or seen premiership football. We've had nothing, a decade of nothing. Championship mediocrity. I will celebrate making the play offs (if we make it) because that's the first thing for me to say I've seen us achieve whilst supporting Town. Now that is pretty sad!

Fair enough, I personally would have thought getting drummed every week and setting a record low points total would be worse.

Even the seasons in the Championship where you were in relegation scraps 10 years ago or so.

It's just how quickly we have fell away too, not so long ago we were sitting pretty and in a good position, 5 points clear of 3rd. I just can't understand at all how we have slipped away so quickly, it's been the biggest collapse of anyone this season.

It's relegation form is what it is.

Injuries have played a big part in it, but there's still something not quite right. Whether that's McClaren and Newcastle remains to be seen.

Lucky for Derby there is only one game left, otherwise they would probably be ending up down in eighth position. No chance they are going to lose next week though, Reading are one of the worst teams I have seen this season.

If only we'd held on for a win the other week against them, that is going to end up being so crucial.
