But for the homegrown quota I'd say it's way overpriced.

Just a bit! He's been great for us but £50m is over double what I was expected the offer would be. He's found himself being covered by two brilliant CBs and pushed out of his role in midfield by the far superior Wanyama.

I don't want to get rid of him, he's a decent second choice for Wanyama when he picks up 5 yellows in his first 5 games and he's ok at CB in a back 3 as long as the other two are fit.

Imo Dier is only rated as highly because he's fucking perfect on FM and has been for many years. Others have been overrated for less.

Dier is as average as they come. If we honestly sign him and Peresic for close to 100m I'll be pissed off.

If you were to finish the window with those two plus Lukaku and Nilsson-Lindelöf (yes, two names, use both) you're essentially going into next season with a marginally better squad than last year. Dier won't be better than Carrick was for you last season, Lukaku while adding different things I'd say is on par with Zlatan, Nilsson-Lindelöf won't be an instant upgrade but rather a long term one and Perisic is just a bit strange. All in all you'd have borderline stood still

For over 200 million,.

I think we would have improved, Zlatan was great but I'm confident Lukaku will get onto even more Pogba through balls and score even more goals. Peresic would provide true width which we haven't had for a long time and Carrick looked done last year, Dier as average as he is would be an improvement.

But it's not enough for that kind of money and I couldn't see us doing much but scrapping for fourth with those additions unless our existing talents step up.

Jose's targets are very poor this year. I wouldn't have signed any of them bar perhaps Lukaku at a push personally but we will see.

You'd hope and assume that Pogba and Mkhitaryan would have much improved seasons which would, in tandem with the signings we have made and have yet to make, make a huge difference to our side.

Yeah a front setup of:
Lukaku
Perisic Pogba MickyT
Looks pretty tasty to me. Both wingers are good in central roles too so they can switch it about a bit and stack up. 3 of them are built like tanks too, so theres some good physicality there. Actually Pogberts not very tanky, but he's a big lad.

While he's a fantastic player I'd have two qualms with it as an Evertonian. First, it's a lot of money for a 28 year old, but then again the way he plays he shouldn't decline in his early 30s. However, he's a 10 and you've surely not signed Klaassen to sit on the bench? Likewise, you're surely not signing Gylfi to play him on the wing. Klaassen I suppose can theoretically play as a nr 8, he's disciplined enough but he's not a creative player in the strictest sense of the word. Maybe you'll play Gylfi as an 8 but then you need a 6 who won't move across the halfway line. Anyway, the two signings seem to clash a bit.

We spent the majority of the second half of last season playing a front 3, but the 'wide' players were playing between cb and fb more often than not. Barkley was very good for about 3 months in this role coming off the right. I think Klaassen will provide more hard running from these positions or from centre mid, Sigurdsson seems a bit similar to Barkley but better defensively. Definitely an improvement on set piece and crossing quality though.

We have Schneiderlin in DM who was excellent there last season and Barry as back up. Idrissa Gueye can also play there if needed, so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw one of them sitting with Klaassen and Sigurdsson running from deep. Sandro seems like a mobile player too, I'm glad we're going for this approach as it's something we haven't seen too much of down the years. Rooney might do a decent job as a more static player for the runners to play off which makes his signing a bit more logical

Dortmund offer PEA to Chelsea. 70mill.
Should they just give Michy a go?
Well, baring in mind he got more than 1 goal per 90 minutes, I'd say yes, they definitely should.

Sigurdsson not travelled on Swansea's pre season tour, Everton bid around £40m. Expect this to be sorted this week

Bakayoko looks to be on his way to Chelsea for £39.8m (plus addons) which isn't a bad fee considering the prices being quoted for other players so far in this window. Hopefully Conte and Chelsea have calmed down enough about the Lukaku hijacking to sanction the sale of Matić to United now.

Your bid was rejected. According to Sky we also put in a more valuable bid than you. I don't know what that's supposed to mean because we put a 40mill bid in prior, so either we've since offered more or the proposed structure of the fee was more favourable I don't know.
Swansea have said that they think 50 can be reached with add ons. I think one of us is going to go to 50 on this. 40 up front with up to 10 on performance based increments.

Inter have said they will not be selling Perisic to Man Utd.
And Man City are talking to Mbappes reps about taking him to the Etihad with Guardiola the draw.

Guardiola was supposed to be the draw to take Alves to City and he's just signed with PSG.

It's strange to talk about offering big money in contrast to City but Mbappe would never move to City with bigger clubs (Real, for one) willing to offer him more money.

I put 20 quid on Sigurdsson to stay at Swansea at 4/1 yesterday, now news everywhere is reporting he'll leave and hasn't gone on Swansea's pre season tour. More evidence in the worlds worst gambler.

I just couldn't see Swansea letting him go and no club behind stupid enough to pay 40m.

Plus if he does go to Everton where are they going to play him? Rooney and Barkley play in the same position as him.

Chalobah staying put it seems - or not going to be sold on a permanent basis.

Shame.

The transfer market is right crap this year. No value at all.

Bargain...

Spurs pretty much always make a killing on sales.
Cast-offs from the mega rich have got to have some decent deals going surely?

Bloody hell. the market seems to get more expensive week by week. Glad we did our business early!!
Granted it's an area City definitely need improvement in, and most clubs they approach see them coming a mile off.

That's a great price for Spurs considering Walker wanted to leave/all the behind the scenes stuff which saw him dropped for Trippier at the end of the season.

Give him the same number and Spurs fans with replica shirts can just use a marker pen to fill in the rest.

Excellent signing for City even if they have overpaid.

He's just what they need.

Supposed to be in for Mbappe too, as if they need him.

Disappointing to see him leave but for £55m it's hard to turn that down when you have a decent replacement in Trippier on the bench. Hopefully Walker-Peters will get a few cup games now.

Walker's really come on in the attacking role he's been given in the past 2 seasons, having 3 CBs to cover him has helped as his defensive slip ups are a lot less frequent!
