Sky Sports seem to think we're leading the way for James Wilson. 20 enquiries in for him, with the loan window opening tomorrow.

Do we really need another attacking option?
Can't see why United would think you'd be the best option considering how many strikers you have

If Wilson is ever going to make it at United then he will need to dump the likes of Bent, Weimann and maybe even Martin out the team.

If United want to loan him out for an easy ride then I can imagine him going to another side, but I can also see the benefit in him coming to Derby - especially for United.

I had my doubts, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen now. It seems to have moved a fair bit in the last day or two in the sense that more news outlets are picking it up. He would be a good signing at this level, of course, but he'll have a big job getting game time at Derby. However, I guess that's down to him and his ability. He needs to prove himself good enough, otherwise United may as well cash in now.

I don't think he'll sign for them, he's probably just looking for a place to train to keep fit until a side comes in for him.

Birmingham sign Shane Lowry. Following on from Legzdins they seem to be taking our deadwood... I mean I know that some Millwall fans liked him, but he was integral to our relegation. No idea how he's got a gig in the Championship...

Hasn't played a whole lot of league football for us over the last two seasons because of the good form of others - but every time he has played either in the Cups or in the league to cover injury he's never put a foot wrong. When I've seen him against L1 and L2 opposition in the Cups he makes that look very easy. Solid Championship defender I'd say, nothing special or spectacular but he'll do the job for you, and deserves some proper football rather than our bench.

Linked with Kermorgant now, as well as Wilson.
That's another player we missed out on, tried getting him on Deadline Day but it was grounded to a halt because of the Grabban deal falling through.

Wouldn't be surprised if we tried to go back in for him, he turned down Wednesday and Huddersfield because he doesn't want to move up North if the rumours are to be believed.

Kermorgant has just signed a new contract here...so slightly at odds with the attempts to loan him out?

Like Ward, he's done absolutely nothing wrong for us and would do well for any championship side. Tbh both would be good experience to keep in our otherwise young squad, but fair enough to go and get first team football.

Whatever happens to Kermorgant, that night in Brighton will be remembered for a long time.

Rammy, Wilson as in our Wilson? He'll be at Spurs next summer.

He'd just be the next player to turn you down. ;)

Think he's referring to James Wilson of Manchester United mate.

Man Utd end tonight saying that James Wilson has signed for us on loan. To be announced tomorrow (if true)

Good move for Wilson, that. If he can show that he can bench our frontline then he could have a much more serious chance of a regular spot for United.

Obviously, if he isn't good enough then it will be a waste. However, it's in his hands really. If he comes in has a blinder then I'll be delighted, if he pushes Bent and Weimann on then I'll be delighted.

I doubt he'll be close to Martin's ability, though.

Yes, I doubt a lad who is being tipped as Rooney's long term replacement and is Uniteds hottest youth prospect will be close to the ability of Chris Martin, a 26 year old who has never left the Championship.

A condescending remark towards a club you will probably never play against must had felt good... you follow a club with 134 years of complete and utter insignificance, perpetually festering in the lower leagues.

Gary Rowett seems to rate him or at least there's some potential there. GR has man-managed players who were shit-to-average into players who are now of decent Championship standard. Jonathan Grounds, Andy Shinnie, Stephen Gleeson, etc.

Not really condescending, more slightly entertaining Legzdins and Lowry have moved into the Championship given they were two of our worst players in a team that got relegated from League One. Now do you need a cloth to wipe the shit off your head from being stuck so far up your own arse?

Gleeson was shit to average? He's a great midfielder and has been since he left us.

Legzdins looked decent from what I saw of him in pre-season. I am happy enough with him as back-up.

Rumours we are interested in Ben Marshall on loan.

Because we haven't got enough midfielders. We are in danger of running out of digits for the shirts.

Kermogant agreed personal terms and had a medical here on Deadline Day, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Frustrating, but Cotterill said that it'd be likely we'd go back in to sign him in January, which seems strange given he's just signed a new contract.

I hope you're right, if we sign him. Martin is miles ahead of both Bent and Weimann in terms of quality, so if we sign someone miles better than Martin then we will be laughing.

I just don't see it. I guess I am a skepticist.
