I'm not sure if Santos will even start tonight as he had covid over the summer and is struggling. He was knackered after 60 mins at the weekend. And didn't play the opening game. We look better going forward this season but definitely need to tighten up at the back. We are 2 games into a 46 game season so a long way to go yet. I'm really happy with how we have looked in possession and going forward (much better than I expected to be honest) but I can't see anything other than a loss tonight if we don't tighten up at the back.... anyway as I've said numerous times mid table would be a good season for us.

Keep conceding 3 goals a game and you’ll be going the opposite way to the Championship. Santos and Baptiste are not L1 defenders.
Santos didn't play the opening game as he's been injured and had covid. 3 pretty shocking goalkeeping mistakes in that game cost us. He kept a clean sheet against Barnsley in the carabao and he was just knackered by 60 minutes at the weekend and it cost us. We looked really good before that. Should have gone 4-1 up had it not been for an outrageous save from their gk. Santos is most definitely at least a league 1 centre back. Second half of last season he was incredible and I'm sure when he is fully fit we will see the best of him again. Baptiste may not be anymore but our first choice pairing of Santos and Johnston when fit will be a good partnership for us.

That's maybe, but think how much more satisfying and gratifying it would be to rise above the little digs rather than slink below them? (And this was only a bit of tongue in cheek sarcasm - not scorn)
If you cut the scorn more folk would read the sensible stuff you write.

I'll bill you for the therapeutic communication advice at the end of each month. The fee will reflect your progress - do better, pay less
no..... i wear my heart on my sleeve
You cannot sat to me to be humble and say you are no better than say Barrow[last season]
or Accrington this season
We lost 7-1 to Accrington on the way down.....wounds need healing and i accept that.....this is a football forum, Bolton are not the best team in League one but every fucker wants to beat us...........
Pompey, us Shef wed and Sunderland are there to be shot at................I dont see the other three at where we are at................We are on the way up....not sure about the other three

Massive ifollow issues tonight but second half we were absolutely superb. Lincoln had a few chances on the break but we dominated the ball. Have to say what a superb player Bridcutt is. He was very good when we had him on loan a few seasons ago. Must be one of the best midfielders in the division

Beat the Mackems 1-0..
They equalised on 94 minutes but disallowed for offside.
Great game, end to end.
3 wins from 3.
We look so different from last season.
And still our two strikers to return.

3 key players out and we were still the better side against Cambridge, think they’ll struggle this season.

Different performance in each half for us again.

First half we played well and were the only team in it really. Could and should have gone in at least 2-0 up and it’d have been game over.

Second half we were poor. Sloppy, second to every ball, gave it away easily, constant wrong decisions and seemed to just gradually sit back further as the game went on. No disrespect to Fleetwood but a better team would have got something from tonight.

Overall though, I can’t moan too much. 4 clean sheets from 4 competitive games, Gregory looked good on his first start and scored. Will need to be better to win at Rotherham on Saturday.

3 wins in 3 for Pompey. Sounds like we were lucky not to concede against Shrews tonight. My mate who went said it was a poor performance, but we still won so i’m happy with that.

Mackems not happy on Twitter. We are wanky little tinpot club, the goal was not offside and they should have smashed us 6-0. Oh and our ground is shit.
they are right on three...........but congratulations
your result is what makes football watchable...

Really you have no one who can lace Santos boots at the back

Told you Johnson and Santos are in the best 3 centre half pairings in the league.....bollox tell me two who are better

Better team tonight, deservedly beat Crewe who didn’t offer much. We didn’t see out the game particularly well, however we were comfortable for 85 minutes.

Worryingly our injury list is starting to grow. We are down to our fifth choice right back!

Battered Wycombe, didn't finish them off and got what we deserved in the last minute of normal time. Frustrating.

Shithoused a draw at Plymouth. For as much of the ball they had they really didn’t do that much with it.

They should have had a player sent off for slapping one of our players. Good point overall but injuries mounting up already!

Lost 1-0 away at Pompey. We deserved a point but unfortunately scoring goals just isn’t for us. Still yet to put the ball in the net in our 3 league games so far.

Onto Plymouth at home on Saturday where HOPEFULLY we’ll finally get a couple of new signings over the line.

3 wins from 3, but we've had a kind fixture list. We've beaten 3 of the bottom 4 teams and we're playing second-bottom Donny on Saturday.

Still, winning is a good habit and it's great to get some early points in the bag.

What a cracking game that was. Both teams wanting to win and fans in full voice. Fine margins, it could literally have gone either way but a couple of mistakes from ourselves led to the goal.

I expected more from Bolton first half and felt we had the better without too many cleat chances. 2nd half Bolton upped the tempo but it was end to end.

We defo lost our way with the subs tonight.

Great to be back under the lights at Sincil Bank in a near full stadium. Plenty to be positive about!

Really struggled with Shrewsburys forwards today, especially having 2 injuries at ht,. No CB on the bench, although ogilvie did well there. Bazunu won us those points with a fantastic save. Trevor kettle needs to retire from refereeing. Worst I've ever seen ever... For both sides. No clue what a foul was.

We’re struggling at centre back - missing two of our three once Taylor went off with a suspected long term injury. Had to play a left back there who never really plays there.

Stole a draw but don’t care. Think we will struggle too but aim is safety, not play offs.

You were using all the dark arts in the book helped by a terrible, weak referee. How is Chris Sarginson a football league ref? Every time we’ve had him, he’s been terrible.

We missed some good chances, Camara in the first half should of scored his header, and Scarr came close twice in stoppage time.

We’ve currently got 4 out injured (Ennis, Mayor, Cooper and Bolton). 3 of which would be starting. Lowe still wants to sign two and we finished the game with a kid up front and two academy products in midfield, all who came off the bench.

Think you could struggle this season, your big lad up front looked isolated at times although Tracey looked good on the break. Just a frustrating evening all round, the ref was pathetic. One example, making your keeper move the ball in the 96th minute ffs!

Don’t really blame you lads for the dark arts, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do to get the points on the board, it’s just in games like that you need a strong ref.

We’ve had enough teams do it to us over the years - I particularly remember Wycombe and Morecambe being masters at it. Actually nice to be the perpetrators rather than the victims for a change!
