Bush used to be a LB before he got fat. Then he became a head-it, hoof-it CB type for Welling.

Probably get stick for saying I wouldn't have minded having Wood back to replace a seemingly departing Magnay. Good player, good signing.

I would have took Wood back, not as good as Magnay but always gave his all.

Thought Lew said Wood would never sign for Lincoln as he is Grimsby through and through?

No idea on Hearn he had one good season for us, never been to Grimsby before or after, maybe to watch a mate play or something, but certainly not Grimsby through and through.

Yeah Wood came through our youth system and was our longest serving player before he left. No idea if he is Grimsby through and through as Lew seems to think, certainly hasn't stopped him signing for you has it. Good luck to him, as I and other have said can never doubt his committment, not technically the best but will never stop trying and has a great and sometimes nasty tackle, but never had a bad discipline record.

It's only a rumour about Wood, nothing official yet but we allegedly signing at least one more play on Monday. BW sounds like a decent player and my god do we need to add some quality to an otherwise distinctly average looking squad.

We need quite a few players especially at the back (we always do!) if Miller and Bencherif don't sign which is highly likely.
Ever since Keith left as manager we've been very short of defenders especially decent ones!

Hogan's a decent signing too. Looked really solid for us at centre half. Not as good as either of Waterfall or Audel though IMO.

Wood hasn't signed? oh I read on twitter he had sorry, so much going on today didn't even realise it wasn't confirmed. Person who tweeted it, hasn't been wrong with anything he has said so far this pre-season, so you never know.

So, including today's 2 signings, we have so far signed James Norwood (FGR), Steve Jennings (re-signing captain), Ritchie Sutton (Mansfield), Jay Harris (Wrexham), Lois Maynard (Halifax) and Liam Hogan (Fleetwood). I have no idea whether that is a good set of signings or not, but to have made 6 signings already (and rumours of another one today) is the complete opposite of the way we usually do business. For the first time in years we actually resemble a professional outfit again!!

Good signings for Tranmere that, their recruitment at least is looking very good so far.

Whether the right mentality is there etc. remains to be seen, but there's no doubt that their squad will know what to expect at this level.

2 out of 6 (Disley and Gowling) of the players I absolutely wanted us to make sure we signed up. Another 2 unlikely (Pearson and Magnay). Let's hope we can get the other 2 (LJL and Toto). Would be really happy with Arnold and Brown/Clay joining Mackreth too. John-Lewis and Toto become big concerns the longer it goes on though. Have given up hope on Magnay and Pearson.
