We've signed someone called Joel Logan from Rochdale on a 1 month loan. No, me neither.

Have you heard anything about where Kieron Forbes has ended up? Surprised he hasn't got a club yet TBH.

Surprisingly, no. Initially thought he might sign permanently for you as he seemed to do well last season, but it seems like your new manager had different targets in mind. He was linked to Woking at one point but nothing seemed to come of it.

For me he'd be a very decent signing for anyone in this league, a strong versatile little player with a good engine and the ability to score the odd cracker.

We've sign Goalkeeper Iain Turner on a 1 year deal from Sheffield United. He's come in as back up to Scott Davies to start with, but I feel we have effectively got 2 number 1 keepers now. Good signing I'd say.

The club has confirmed the signing of Brian Saah as expected.

Altrincham sign George Bowerman, late of Accrington.

Didn't impress when he was on loan with us. He played up front by himself so he might be better in a two.

Given that Altrincham tend to play 4-5-1, I don't know if he'll get to play in a pair.

We started last season playing 4-4-2, with moderate results. After a few games, we reverted to 4-5-1, which did seem a bit more effective. It's hard to say why 4-5-1 became the preferred combo. It could be that the midfield wasn't strong enough or the fact that the two strikers who weren't Damien Reeves were so ineffective that the extra man had to go into midfield.

It would be nice to see 2 up front again this year. I feel sorry for Reeves, running about like piffy on his own.

We've signed Danny Haynes. Struggled with injury of late, hoping he keeps fit and does well because he should be playing higher up.

Played one brilliant game with us, but went off injured in that game (our last win of the season against Cambridge). Funnily enough, had he not gone off injured, and played like that in the last 3 games I think we would have stayed up, not that we would have deserved it.

Rob Atkinson from Accy Stanley, Tom Craddock from Plymouth. Adam Lockwood from Oldham. Other than that we've kept the majority of our play-off winning squad.

Can't be still playing surely?! Or was the Lockwood who was at Barnet a few years back a different one?

We've signed William Boyle on loan from Huddersfield. This will be a reaction to our left back suffering a bad injury in our final friendly at the weekend, and the length of the loan is 5 months which is probably how long we're expecting the injury to last at a minimum.

No idea about the lad (only 19), was on loan at Kiddy and played a couple of games apparently. Kiddy fans, any opinions?

Thought your LB was Diagne, or are you putting him at CB?

If I remember right he was thrown in again Bristol Rovers and he didn't seem fully up to it then. He's a very tall guy for a left back and to me he looks like he'd be a better cb

No we're just putting him out to pasture.

With Haynes-Brown injury on Saturday I did fear that Diagne at left-back would be inevitable, however it seems Askey shares most fans' views that he's best suited on the bench. Hopefully Boyle will be starting and we can reduce any defensive Di-angst.

We've signed Dylan Forth, a young keeper released from Villa and Dale Tonge, who was released by Torquay and that's our squad completed.

Adam mekki signs a 6 month contract

Interesting signing. I always liked Mekki as a player but the general opinion was very much decided.
He'd be unplayable one game then have about 4 where you wouldn't even know he was on the pitch.
Scored some screamers for us and was good with the ball at his feet, although he was a bit lightweight and didn't really track back.
Really hope he does well for you and gets game time!

Can we all just take a minute and spare a thought for Gateshead, who have signed Jordan Cranston.

He played for us twice when we were awful and got destroyed by Bristol Rovers and even Welling. That said, I don't think he could have done much to change those games. He's quite tall for a full back and could be alright. I vaguely remember him being well thought of at Huddersfield when we got him and I think he had had a couple of substitute appearances in the Championship prior to his loan.
