It was more a comment on the constant "BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD" narrative that Sky drum home through out every game....
Which is fairly uncontroversial and quite logical, considering they own the rights to it. But I see your point.

Man United's possession (35%) vs Liverpool was their lowest ever since records began.

Seems the atmosphere at Liverpool is getting worse, the plastics sit there with their phones taking pictures of the players and this being their cup final too........even the press and opposition managers all know how shit this place is for armosphere here are some recent quotes from them about the Anfield Snore...

Sir Alex Ferguson
“It's not like Goodison at all that place has a real atmosphere it is always a nightmare going there and it wouldn’t matter whether it was Dixie Dean playing for us. The atmosphere is fantastic.
Paul Scholes
Scholes - who was sent off that night in 2005 - compared the Goodison roar to the one he experienced on the other side of Stanley Park.

“I never found Anfield intimidating whatsoever. Goodison Park always has had the better atmosphere."

Arsene Wenger
“Everton’s ground is a lot more aggressive than Liverpool’s. It’s one of the noisiest I’ve been to. It has a great atmosphere."

Jose Mourinho
Nonchalant Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho praised the atmosphere at Goodison Park - but shrugged off the intimidation factor claiming he enjoys he visits.

“I love to play Everton, especially at Goodison Park, where the atmosphere is magnificent, Liverpool does not compare it is normally easy place with no problems.”

Bilo's response to Smat in post #256 is all that needs to be said about this.

There you go again, trying to shut down debate.

YOU DON'T DECIDE.

I do. Now shut the fuck up and go back to celebrating a draw with 35% possession.

You and BIlo can shut the fuck up and go cry in a corner about how United are cheating because we've got a good keeper and a competent defensive unit.

Go on.

DEBATE OVER.

Well said, Phil.
+1

Tactically we were pretty much spot on last night. We were the better side in the first half, reduced a free scoring team to just a few shots on target and it's worth noting that we had the best chance of the game, had Zlatan got Pogba's cross right then it's just another vintage Mourinho away win.

Whereas you got a 0-0 draw with a world class last ditch tackle and two brilliant saves.

You missed one chance. Matches in which you create one chance, you lose almost always, with the odd draw. You got the odd draw and you're celebrating like you moved closer to us in the table or something.

And whichever way you look at it, you know it's true as well. If given the opportunity, would you take one single chance against Chelsea, if it was offered to you now? Of course not. But Mourinho would and that's why you'll hate him in a few years.

It really does speak volumes about the state of Manchester United and what they've become that a fan can say their tactics were spot on after coming away with a point, a single shot on target and a third of the possession. No United fan would have been happy with that 5 years ago after a league game, no matter who the opposition was.

There's only 3 points separating us

a third of the possession
Possession is pointless if you can't do anything with it (see Liverpool's performance last night)

You pick up on one completely irrelevant joke and make one completely redundant point that literally nobody disagrees with, and ignore the rest. You're like the football version of Donald Trump.

No need to even go back 5 years. If LVG was in the dugout for United yesterday they would slaughter him.

I thought the whole post was a joke, 2 world class saves? The Can save was a standard save for any decent keeper, the Coutinho one was good but De Gea makes saves like that pretty much every week.

And your idea that Mourinho would take 1 chance against Chelsea if offered it now is just plain false.

To state a good example I'll adress all of this.

Yeah, both saves are world class and would have been let in by most keepers. Can's isn't even arguable, it's from such a close range and it's a brilliant save. Then the Coutinho shot, maybe de Gea makes that save every week but that goes in every time as well. He's scored a bunch of those but I can't remember anyone saving a shot he hit that well, he usually skies it or it's the top corner.

As for your final sentence, I guess that proves my point. You wouldn't take it and perhaps you're right, you're at home so maybe Mourinho won't either.

Yet here you are, trying to convince us that you're pleased with a performance in which you created one chance. It makes very little sense because it's a question of probability. Say, if I get one to five odds on a one to ten bet, it's a bad decision to take the bet. This fact is true regardless of whether I win or not, because probability has nothing to do with the single outcome of any given situation.

But you are, in this case, focusing entirely on the result ignoring the (very obvious) probability that you had very little chance of winning and were much more likely to lose.

But then, when I ask you about the Chelsea game, you don't have a result so then you think in probability. One chance? Get fucked.

Happy to help and sorry if I sound condescending, this is high school math I know.

Well I'm arguing it so I guess it arguable. Can didn't hit it hard enough and it was too close to De Gea.

I think we're away actually. I can't believe you're seriously suggesting any manager would take just 1 chance before a ball is even kicked and nothing to go with it. He'd take it if that 1 chance meant a 1-0 win and so would I.

Yet here you are, trying to convince us that you're pleased with a performance in which you created one chance.
It was a game of few chances, it speaks volumns that Liverpool's best chance came from a hopeful long range effort. I expected us to lose so I'm happy we didn't and were the better side in the first half.

When has a draw away from home againt a rival not been a decent result? I think a few ' Pool fans on here are a little salty because they didn't 'smash' us as they'd thought and hoped. United controlled Liverpool in the first half in midfield, you couldn't string two passes together. Not sure where this great attacking intent was from Liverpool either, they were constantly passing back to Karius.

How do United fans feel that Maureen has 2 less points than LvG did after his first 8 games?

It's not often that G-Dragon makes a good point but he did earlier. LVG would have been shot down in flames by the entire fanbase if he'd been manager after last nights game. And not because of the result, but because of the complete lack of desire to take the points. It was very Moyesesque, where not losing is far more important than winning.

LvG beat you every time in the league.

We're playing better under Mourinho and he's been here for two minutes. How shit were Liverpool when Klopp took over? He was nearing Roy's dismal record at one point.

I can't remember a time under Ferguson where I wasn't happy with a draw at Anfield, and Fergie set up more conservatively than Mourinho did yesterday.

Bitter because you had your hopes up. Controlled with ease.

LVG was regularly shot down in flames but that was for playing pointless possession football with no end product a bit like Liverpool did last night, rather than effectively earning a decent point away from home against an in form rival.
