Disappointing game, but more so for Liverpool. They were the in form team, at home. I'd be fuming if the roles were reversed.

On to the next.

Watched the game with a Man Utd supporting mate, and even he agreed it was the biggest pile of shite he had ever seen.

That's not particularly surprising, I think we are all in agreement on that.

It is kind of funny after all the build up we gave it, and the sycophants of the media (particularly Sky!) fawning page after page of preamble for it; that we ended up with the shitshow we got

Spot on, I'm not happy to have sat through it but if millions of neutrals changed the channel while watching it and deprived Sky of a massive amount of viewers then I think it was all worth it.

Pat on the backs to United and Liverpool for thumbing Murdoch in the eye.

And football in the process but nevermind that bit.

Count yourself lucky!
Not really tbh, as I was out with the cat seeing if the wee bugger can do a proper shit yet; I was doing that at midnight on Saturday night as well - what a life...

Just little bits unfortunately, not the big pokes of chips when he's at his best, and its prolapsed to fuck, and he's losing weight drastically. Looks like a chronic thing and the vets don't really seem to want to get to the root of it. Think we may move from the PDSA to a proper vet again and see if they can do anything for the wee soul. Anyway, I digress quite a bit there! :D

It's a more interesting subject than tonight's match at least!

I hope it all ends well, good luck!

Just finished watching the game. Unlucky not to win the game against a team who came for a draw like a small team. De Gea saving the day again!

It's a fair enough tactic in games like that though. Wish Arsenal could do it. Wouldn't like to watch it every week but he only rolls it out 5-6 times a season.
Yes, it's a fair tactic, football is about winning (failing that, drawing) and everybody saw it coming. Worth noting is that Mourinho set up to defend in a way I can't recall him doing before. Usually his teams zonal mark until the final third, but last night was the opposite of that. Complete man marking.

It's not really a stroke of genius though (although thankfully no one has claimed it to be). Play that game again, we win most of the time and United win basically never. Putting your entire game plan down to defending and hoping that de Gea plays a blinder will work from time to time, but not systematically and certainly not as a blueprint for coming big matches. United gave up far too much going forward, the way they played, and got lucky. It's a fair argument that United probably needed a bit of luck to get anything with any given tactic, and perhaps this was their best chance of getting anything. But like I said above, play the game again and United will basically never win. That should bother United fans, because they've got more tough games coming up and something has to change, or they'll draw some games while losing the lion's share. It simply isn't good enough and if your eventual goal is to win these games, it's a step in the wrong direction whichever way you look at it.

If Lallana was on the bench then he's fit enough to start, we also missed Wijnaldum.
I only ever hear this in England, it's strange how common it is. Managers regularly have players on the bench even if they're only ready for 30-odd minutes.

Well, as a neutral, what can I say about that 93 minutes of torture last night ? Suffice to say I tried but failed to find one of these 'Home renovation' channels on Sky for a programme on watching paint dry or a Horror film called 'I'd rather stick pins in my eyes'......93 minutes of shite!

Unfortunately, it's what happens when only one team is trying to win and that team has an off night. Even putting aside the fact I find him pretty repulsive as an individual, United's attitude towards the game last night is a prime example of why I've never wanted Mourinho at Liverpool.

Aw, look at you all on ya johnny Todd, I'll give you a reply matey.
*hug*

Anyway, never thought I would see such a defensive display from the Mancs, thought we were playing the old Stoke at times. How much money have spent and they are making subs in the 90th to hold on to a 0-0.

De Gea is a beast though, two belter saves again the horrible c***.

Yet another dull premiership 'big' game. No wonder sky's viewing figures are down 20%.

That and the fact people can watch virtually all games for free with a cursory Google search.

The best part of the game was Martin Tyler's claim that "Loads of foreign managers have told me that you can shut up shop in all the other leagues in the world, BUT NOT THE PREMIER LEAGUE".

Most of the time it doesn't work though, which goes for most leagues. It's a question of chances created and probability. If you create one chance and concede three, all equal to each other, you've got a 5% chance of winning the match. When that one in twenty game comes along, it changes nothing. Pundits and commentators don't like to think of football in probability though, but I'm sure Mourinho does.

It was more a comment on the constant "BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD" narrative that Sky drum home through out every game....
