Saturday is huge, really huge! Start of a more favourable seven or eight games which we need to pick up a good haul from.

Saturday is a must win or I can't see us staying up which is a shitter considering it could potentially be Swindon, Oxford, Bristol Rovers and Bristol City in the same division next year. Still, wouldn't fancy losing 18 points to the above clubs so every cloud.
Likely Plymouth and (possibly) Exeter too.

Our issue is that we can't stop conceding goals. We have to score 2 (at least) to win a game, and when you've got a top scorer with about 6 goals, that ain't going to be easy.

We do have a 'kind' run of fixtures (up until the last 4 or so) and we really should be able to pick up 15 points from a possible 39. We need to win on Saturday otherwise we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

Have we got enough? I'm not so sure and injuries are coming thick and fast.

Our topscorer that has played our last few games since cicilia and streete havent played is nathan smith with 4.

Are the irrelevant minnows who I don't want to see in this league next season as we head back to the championship.

See you guys. We are toast.

At least I won't have to visit Doncaster or Rotherham next season.

Enjoy League 2.

You almost certainly won't "do a Donny".

More like a Tranmere I'd suspect

We do but at least we have teams that will have a go. We have plenty of ability to score and apart from Gillingham we've been pretty solid. They'll be plenty of surprise results from everyone down the bottom. If it goes down the last game v Southend then it's probably game over.

Yesterday did us the power of good, probably need another 2 wins but we're looking up rather than down now. I can't see MK being dragged into things, and Shrewsbury seem to be a pretty consistent side over the last couple of months, plus have added goals to their squad which should see them ok. So it's left to the current bottom 6 to battle it out for me - Coventry are dead and buried, Chesterfield probably are too, Swindon seem determined to be relegated, Vale have those all important games in hand which I think will probably save them, Oldham don't score enough goals and Bury concede too many! I think it'll end up being the current bottom 3 + Oldham.

Unfortunately I think you might be right. We had a spell of scoring one goal and just defending the lead all game. We dont even do that now. We still have to play Sheff Utd, Bolton and Rochdale at home plus have to go to Southend and Bristol Rovers. Oxford on tuesday is a must win.

I may be unduly pessimistic but we are not there yet. Fortune smiled on us yesterday with the three penalties but they were our only shots on target in a home match.

4froale mentions Oldham's remaining fixtures but we have Bolton, Millwall and Fleetwood at home plus Rochdale and in form Northampton away.

Considering I think we lost six of our last seven fixtures last season and we have no fit full backs available, I will delay my sigh of relief.

I've seen a lot of people suggesting we only had the three pens as shots on target yesterday but it's not true! We had a header cleared off the line first half, and Quigley's effort was on target before it was deflected wide not long afterwards. Yeah we weren't great, but we've 3 of the last 4 not being great. We had a very poor run against terrible teams, I can't argue that, but we've started playing a couple of the higher placed sides lately and picked up points. The 'top' teams in the league are not streets ahead in my opinion - since the turn of the year we've picked up 8 points in 4 games against 4 of the top 7 so to write off our remaining games against the 'top' sides is a bit soon I feel.

We were bloody awful yesterday though. I just think there are enough awful sides standing between us and relegation.

Our run in looks the best on paper which may help us (plus the extra three games).

Cobblers A
Shrewsbury H
Coventry A

Huge three games and a decent return could leave us in a good position.

I'd still be a bit worried as a Port Vale fan that there are 14 games left and two of them have yet to be rearranged.

Walsall bottled playing it as they have four away... two of which have barely played! So that and Rochdale will have to fit in the only two days realistically we can... April 4 and 25th.

Vales remaining games are as follows northampton away shrewsbury home coventry away mk dons home wimbledon home walsall away chesterfield away shef utd home oxford away rochdale away bolton home fleetwood away so alot of games and 7 of them are away which most likely means no wins there some tough fixtures still to come and the shrewsbury game friday is just as important as yesterdays swindon game.
