Total Recall (2012)
A pointless and inferior remake, saying that i may have liked this more had i not seen the original classic film with Arnie. 5.5/10.

Tutti i colori del buio (All the Colours of the Dark/They're Coming to Get You) (1972)

Ol' blue eyes chases Edwige Fenech about London on behalf of a coven of witches and other unspecified occultist loons. Very good. Groovy soundtrack. 70s London and more spiral staircase chase scenes.

David Brent: Life on the Road (2016)

The Office revisited. A rehash of the original series but this time in a format that doesn't work, with no likeable characters to become invested in and jokes/songs that have been available for years on Gervais' youtube channel/XFM shows/podcasts. A few of the one-liners made me laugh but that's about as into it I got.

The Last Of The Mohicans (1992)
A classic film with Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeleine Stowe. I never get bored of watching this it's that good with decent acting and brutal battle scenes,i liked the music score as well it went perfectly with what was happening. 9/10.

It really is a fantastic film that, and was one of the final films Day-Lewis acted properly in.

I corpi presentano tracce di violenza carnale (Torso) (1973)

A murderer in a red and black, no, black and red scarf is wiping out the student population of Perugia with a knife and a saw. This wasn't bad - it was unremarkable at times but towards the end it featured an excellent ten to fifteen minute scene that is possibly the most suspenseful thing I've ever seen.

Haunt (2014)
Saw this on Horror on Freeview and was pleasantly surprised as it wasn't bad with some seriously creepy moments just a shame it was let down by the ending which spoiled it somewhat. 7/10.

La corta notte delle bambole di vetro (Short Night of Glass Dolls) (1971)

The film opens with the discovery of a body in a park. We soon learn that the person isn't dead but appears so in every discernible way. The events leading up to the discovery of the body are then told via flashback segments. Wonderful film. Not as visually stylish as a lot of the gialli I have been watching recently but excellent in terms of the way the story is crafted and how the mystery unfolds. Great.

Open Range(2003)
A decent western with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall. First hour was a little slow but the last hour it got better leading up to a gunfight in a town where all hell broke loose. 8.5/10.

Chi l'ha vista morire? (Who Saw Her Die?) (1972)

The parents of a recently murdered red-headed stepchild attempt to catch the perpetrator of the crime and find out that it all goes deeper than they imagined. Not much to say about this one, it was OK but no aspect of it particularly stood out apart from the soundtrack, which was strong.

Wild Bill (1995)
A dreadful film with Jeff Bridges playing Wild Bill Hickock. For some reason it kept switching from black and white to colour and back to black and white. Could have been so much better considering the subject matter. 4/10.

Giornata nera per l'ariete (The Fifth Cord) (1971)

A maverick (read: drinks a lot and likes to womanise) newspaper reporter becomes a suspect in a series of murders he is trying to solve. The story was OK but quite like the last film I watched nothing really stood out and this time the soundtrack wasn't up to much either.

Hadn't seen this for at least 10 years and it was well worth watching even the violence was sickening at times, one of Bruce Willis's better filma imo. 8.5/10.

Creed [2015]

Decent Rocky entry. Stallone was excellent here. The first big fight the kid did was well shot, though the one with Bellew at the end stretched believability too far for me. Good to see a YNWA scarf at Goodison at the end though ;)

The Bishop's Wife [1947]

Cary Grant and David Niven star in this, where a bishop (Niven) prays for help in building a cathedral and gets an angel sent down to help him, though not in the way he expects.

Some very funny moments in this, and the comic timing from the leads was brilliant as always. Maybe a bit too sentimental for modern tastes, but I don't mind that around Christmas personally.

Le orme (Primal Impluse/Footprints on the Moon) (1975)

This one is hard to summarise, plot-wise. So I won't. Just know that the plot is captivating, the soundtrack is excellent (some of it sounded like a Current 93 instrumental from the mid 90s, which is a plus) and the film looks fantastic. Perfect.

5 Minutes of heaven [2009] very watchable film about the "troubles" in Ireland involving the IRA and the UVF with Liam Neeson & James Nesbitt.

La donna del lago (The Lady of the Lake/The Possessed) (1965)

A writer travels to a lakeside Italian village hoping to find a woman from his past that he is in love with. Turns out she is dead. He is told that she committed suicide but receives conflicting reports and decides to investigate. This wasn't bad, interesting plot for the most part.

Cosa avete fatto a Solange? (What Have You Done to Solange?) (1972)

A teacher is having an affair with a student from the school he works at. While out together she catches a glimpse of a murder in progress. They both get wrapped up in the ongoing story. Really, really brutal story that was masterfully told.

Kind of meh this was, fun in parts, but it never gripped my like the first reboot did, and at times in the second.

La polizia chiede aiuto (What Have They Done to Your Daughters?) (1974)

Police discover the body of a teenage girl, hanged - apparently a suicide. Investigations lead to the discovery of an underage prostitution ring that is linked to prominent members of society as well as a cleaver-wielding motorcyclist dressed in black. Fantastic. Another hard-hitting story that is perfectly told with some extra flourishes (the biker, the chase scene, the soundtrack, some excellent characters) that push it ahead of the last film I watched, also a Dallamano film.

What's with all these Italian movies Steven? I've watched quite a few of the ones you're now watching but my memory's pretty bad when it comes to remembering film titles, or at least those ones I didn't enjoy a lot.

They are Giallo films, mate. Martino Knockavelli turned me onto them and I'm bingeing my way through them!

True lies.

Don't know when this came out but thoroughly enjoyed it (again) yesterday afternoon, total nonsense film from Arnie and the incredibly fit Jamie Lee Curtis.

Many points for JLC's strip & dance routine.

Not Brad Pitt's finest hour but it's not a bad film with some decent battle scenes and the tank battles were well done. 7/10.
