1-0 full time. 12 points out of 12, 14 unbeaten away from home. Not getting carried away, but things are looking good.

We were absolutely brilliant today, if we played like that regularly we would piss the league. York look like they should be more worried about relegation than pushing for the top half, not going to get anywhere with that waste of space Brodie up front.

Also it was 6, no idea why sky says 7.

We won't stay up by taking points off the likes of Forest Green. More important games to come and we had some sort of 'go'. The real concern is the attendance of 800. We don't have any money as it is, we can't have attendances dipping under 1000.

One positive was that we ran Chris FGR. The look on his face.

Delighted with that, decent goal from Connor Jennings, and Norwood's back to missing one on one's. Congrats to the B'wood player who was giving gyp to the away end and then got himself sent off, genius!

What the hell happened tonight??? Goals galore.
We also had a game of the season contender - 3-2 it finished to Barrow, but from 3-0 up it looked like Tranmere all over again.
Chester were mostly poor - rubbish defence and keeper (how fat's Astles by the way...), but the substitute Akintunde looks a real player and caused our make-shift defence massive problems. Best player Chester have got by a country mile.

Our whole XI were decent, and looked like we might run riot coming close a few more times before Chester decided they might try. Hannah looked fired up against his old club and got an early-ish goal, and Jordan Williams (MOTM again) scored another belter.

Even though it was nervy for the last 15 mins, I can't remember enjoying a match more for a long time.

Stole a win at the death.

Bloody rubbish though. No idea what's going on.
Can't beat a last minute winner eh! That would have been a chorus of boos had it stayed 0-0, and can't really argue with that either.

Sad thing is I thought that was a lot better performance than the Dover match first game.

Kai Edwards was decent. Solid enough with three at the back. Barry was woeful and looked completely uninterested when subbed off.
Jordan White better be the non-league Zlatan because we are shite up front.

Also: amazing we managed over 4k on a Tuesday night

If you don't take your chances, you don't deserve to get the points. Sounds like we should have got a point though. Oh well, Southport on Saturday looks like an important game with us under pressure. 7 days is a long time in football.

Did you have a goal disallowed in the first half? Sky seemed to think you went 2-0 up about 30 mins in and then they were one goal ahead for the rest of the night.

5 years ago we'd just dropped back down to the 8th tier. Tonight we sit just a single goal outside the National League playoffs. Please, nobody wake me up because this must be a dream.

The last time Tranmere opened a season with 4 wins was in 1973. I'm not a Gary Brabin fan, but credit where credit is due.

Well there you go, the real clubs' fans rally round in adversity. 530 Shaymen at Stockport, home attendances up 300.

Both teams had chances to score more but we held on which is what you need to do at this level, the miss from the Lincoln lad after 85 mins was a howler but then we missed the same first half. Decent support from the Imps.

We still look shaky at the back but we have 3 clean sheets in four games work that one out.

We actually have a team for the first time in 4 or 5 years.

Didn't go tonight. What's your opinion on us?

First half you looked ok. Quite dangerous going forward and caused problems with your long throw. Second half we changed things a bit and were just about on top. Your players seemed to tire quite a lot towards the end.

3-1 win in the end. Southport started well but then fell apart and we blitzed them with 3 goals before 30 mins. Second half we dropped off having already sealed the win and Southport got one back late on. Comfortable win, up to 3rd, we're flying at the moment.

Yeah good result. Another poor performance is a worry though. We did look better once the changes were made though.

Scraping the barrel for positives I suppose the two late wins show we aren't giving up. That's good resilience we maybe didn't have last year.

I thought Southport tried to play us in a game of passing football in the first half, and we completely dominated, and for once, were fairly clinical. However, as we continued to dominate into the second half, Southport started to go more direct with their enormous players! This worked better, and we struggled at times with the free kicks and corners that kept coming into the box. Eventually, they scored from a quick free kick, but it didn't really mean anything.

It was good that we had the chance to give a few players a rest towards the end and that it was a fairly comfortable win all in all. Southport were absolutely terrible at defending, but reasonable going forward. I think they'll struggle. As for us, I think we're going to have to be at our very best if we want to get something from Sutton on Saturday, although it's been a very positive start!

I did suggest quite strongly to you guys (might have been the other Wrexham supporters) when you signed him that he was crap. Won't get any better either.

2-1 flattered Braintree honestly, I think we got lax after their player was sent off late on. Bobby-Joe has already scored more than he did all last season! 2,242 was an excellent crowd for midweek too.

Next up is an easy trip to uh, Prenton Park.

Start preparing for life as a Football League fan. Aspin now has the financial clout behind him that he was never going to get at The Shay and will take you up as Champions this season.
