Disappointed with a defeat but I'm not surprised, better teams than us will end up losing away at Dagenham. Doesn't sound like we played that badly, just if our finishing was better then we would of at least got a draw.

A win against Southport and things will start to look up again.

Bus breaks down 60 miles from Sutton. Players get taxis to ground, arriving 10 minutes before KO. 1-0 inside 4 minutes. Disallowed equaliser. Penalty + red card, 2-0.

A sterling evenings work, that.

Good win, Woking weren't great tbf, men against boys really though we played in second gear for most of it, knocking it around making them chase.

New respect for their firm, never been run through Nandos before. The ICF got nothing on Sparrowz Boyz.

Expected a defeat last night, but I've read comments that range from doing ok to pretty poor. Sounds as though with Rhead, we might have taken something.

The irony of Alan Power's final contribution to the match being booked just before he was subbed...

Mind you, he's not played since the PSF's so we did well to get that long out of him.
His performance was definitely not because he's an average player who turns up every 1 in 4 games....

If you don't take your chances, you don't deserve to get the points. Sounds like we should have got a point though. Oh well, Southport on Saturday looks like an important game with us under pressure. 7 days is a long time in football.

Let me get this straight, you lose one game, one nil and suddenly your under pressure. OMG!

Thought we didn't play too badly tonight, certainly no cause for concern just yet - we just need Margetts to finish his chances and Rheady/Wood to come back.

Dagenham looked OK, not too great but with a couple of class players in Doe and Gutteridge. I thought much the same of Cheltenham this time last season, so who knows.

Dagenham itself is a really friendly club, had a lengthy conversation with someone with several facial tattoos about Paul Benson.

Alan Power is just coming back from injury, so he was a bit shit tonight. Give him a week and he'll be back to his WORLDBEATING BEST

I read Benson has been reunited with Still, he was poor a couple of years ago. Did he play?

Less then 5 points from now till the end of the month and I can see the Cowleys out of a job.

Massive pressure/expectation when your the moneybags side of the league, already 6 points off the top. Not good.

From a guy supporting a team who on top of a signing on fee, is handing Tubbs over £2000+ a week :£
They may have more money than last year, but compared to the pockets of the veggie monster, theirs are for loose change only

Sacrilege.

Nah. he was very poor, didn't look fit at all. We looked a lot better with Hawkridge playing deep because he can actually pass the ball

Leamington defeated Merthyr Town 1-0 in the last minute of the game in the Southern Premier. Leamington are the only side still to have a 100% record in their league, with 4 wins out of 4.

1 in 8 I reckon, only 3 goals last season, looks a shadow of the player of his first two seasons with us, too cosy for him but a shock maybe on its way for him and a few others....

I believe a great deal of our success last season was down to the Cowleys inheriting a strong squad left over from Alan Devonshires 4 years.
True they brought in Alex Woodyard and Taylor Miles, but it was their methods with what they inherited and the team spirit we had that led to our outstanding season. Am I correct after reading your forum that they are less than impressed with some of the squad they inherited from Moyses?

Just watched the highlights of our game and Christ knows how Lincoln didn't score. Clearly one of the better teams in this league and with one or two more to come back in, plus a little bit of luck in future games, they'll be up there come the end of the season no doubt.

Not really anymore than you're likely to get when any new manager walks in, but there are ones you'd put your money on them getting rid of if they could have done in the summer i.e. they were already under contract. Our main weakness last season, which was picked up before the season even started, was a lack of mobility and pace, which are two main things needed to play how they want to and you obviously can't coach players how to be quicker and more mobile.

They got rid of those they could who lacked pace and mobility and/or over 30 i.e. Brown, Hearn, Sparrow, Tempest. There were 3 who triggered new contracts and they got rid of one (Bush) within a couple of weeks and another one, Stanley, has been transfer listed. Neither of those had pace or mobility. Given the choice, I think they'd quite happily shift another 4 or so on (Beevers, McCombe, Waterfall, Power).

Central midfield is an area we've been very week in, in all our time down here and defensively we've not been much better either. Their biggest challenge is to change the mentality of the defence. We've not really done clean sheets on a consistent basis since the KA days in L2 about 10 years ago.

Luckily for them, the Board seem quite happy to let them sign another couple of players without having to get rid of a player or two first.

When they first came we knew they generally liked working with the existing squad and only adding 3 or 4 players but we all knew that'd not be the case here. The squad needed more than a tweak despite what the pro-Moyses camp said.

Not so much the nibble DBB more that the supporters of the bigger clubs, and certainly those with the bigger finances of the bigger clubs seem to think it (should) allow them, give them the right, the freedom almost to preach,to and maintain the moral high ground over those clubs who don't operate on the same financial page with one of the insidious by products being they invariably morph into supporters who think it is a god given right to ridicule and look down on said lesser teams.

"We should be beating smaller teams" " How we can lose to them?"
Like the Dovers, Guiselys, Braintrees, N Ferribys, of this world who obviously have no right being in this league...so patronising....second thoughts, you're right it was a nibble:bg:

You're new here. As a starting basis you shouldn't respond to a single thing posted by certain users because 90%+ of what they post is pure wind up material (and most of the other 10% is responding to each other).

Welcome. You'll soon note who the trolls are, please don't feed them.

Hi mate. Neither of those featured at all. They weren't even on the Subs bench

Well if they aren't going to use them then we'll very happily take them back! I think it's fair to say the fans who have been to our games so far feel that they (among others) haven't been replaced.

Edited for you

A little unfair. There are one or two reasonable FGR fans, and there are some windup merchants on here who support other clubs.

Yet to meet a FGR supporter without a massive chip on their shoulder. Eastleigh the same. Whilst Woking have some awful supporters they also have a fair few good'uns.

But yes, my point was aimed at a couple in particular

TJF and Greenacres are ok, the rest are just a bit simple so you have to make allowances for them.

No not because of one game at all. The Cowleys will always be under more pressure at Lincoln than Braintree, the level of expectation is much bigger. Losing at home to Sutton and then Dagenham away has increased the pressure, we need to beat Southport as got some real tough games coming up. One deserved goal against Daggers and we would have been 5th rather than 14th, fine margins.
