They’ve got down to W on the League 1 list already? Time to try League 2.

Monday morning: “Hello Accrington, have you got any strikers for sale?”

We are too busy signing young goalkeepers. We've signed a 23 year Old from Sligo Rovers (initially on loan) and an 18 year old from Bradford Park Avenue

Just the 27 keepers on the books now. And in the summer we will probably need to buy another.

They will be screwed once they get through all League 2 though as Aldershot are fucking shit.

That Jake Young fella at Swindon would be top of my shopping list.

Ollie Palmer added to the injury list. Had a knee brace on following the game yesterday. Got to get a forward in now surely

Rumour going around that the Ben 'Friggin' Ledge' Foster has retired.

An ITK on Red Passion has pretty much confirmed this. He should have gone out on a high note end of last season, shame. Might not have been playing league football this season if it wasn't for his penalty stop against Notts.

New number 1 needed then as Howard isn't of the standard required.

Confirmed. Sad but he should never have signed on.

League One keepers on standby.

Works well that he left before the transfer window is over. I suspect we'll see Howard for one league match max before a new keeper's brought in...

Or at least that's what I'm hoping.

Fair does to Fozzy got admitting he's not what he was. The LDV win, League title, Notts peno save. The bloke will be considered a legend here for years to come.

Back down to 4 keepers, get 1 in Parky

Fair play to Foster he doesn't need it

As others have said he we will forever be remembered as a key part in the promotion and can now concentrate on his other interests

Foster realising League 2 isn’t full of Dorking’s every week! Still waiting for the fanbase to realise this as well

Still waiting to see the massive gulf in class you lot are on about tbh. The league is a little better (players more consistent) but not to the level some of you would have us believe.

Didn't see the Foster decision coming but equally I'm not surprised. It would have been better if he'd had left it at last season.

He got us up with that pen save and that clean sheet at Barnet when we had 10 men, they were the key games in the run-in and it's what he'll be remembered for. We draw that Notts game and they overhaul us IMO. Howard was totally gone mentally at that point, we'd never have gone up with him in goal through the playoffs.

The keeper situation has been beyond a joke for years now with hoping Lainton can sellotape himself back together to play enough games.

You'll be lucky to get half as many points this season as you did in the National League. Surely that shows the step up?

With how much money Wrexham have spent on outfield players, it's shocking they've never splashed out on a goalkeeper.

There's loads of first choice keepers in L2 and some even in L1 that would jump at the chance to join Wrexham

With the benefit of hindsight, and I mean the FULL benefit, I'm very happy that Foster made that excellent and vital injury time penalty save from Scott. Without it we don't get the unforgettable semi final and final dramas. Netflix documentary worthy as a combination.

I think we'd all agree with this.

That’s only true to an extent, us and Wrexham only got so many points last season because we had to in a battle for one automatic promotion place. Our draw at Morecambe last week a good example - we’d have gone far, far more aggressive to win it in the last 20 minutes last season because dropping any points was a disaster. At this level a point on the road is basically fine so we didn’t overcommit men forward.

Only four games in but I’ve noticed a slight step up in pace and intensity and that’s about it, nothing major. We obviously got slapped about by Sutton due to circumstances with the early red card, but otherwise it’s been a continuation. Grimsby, Morecambe and Doncaster were all desperately lacking in quality and ambition to try and make a game of it.

I just said the legaue is better. But it's not miles better.

If we get less than 55 points by the end of the season I will concede your point.

100%
Parky 1st season - Dibble and Lainton
Dibble never good enough, Lainton class but made of popadoms

Last season he replaced Dibble with a 35year old Howard, who wasn't as bad as made out but should of been replaced earlier. We got 111 points, could of been 120 with a proper keeper. Fozzy had some huge moments last season, should of left on a high. He's took just over a week to bring a proper GK in or I think it will end up costing him his job. Chris Maxwell should of been brought home in the summer along with a younger lad to push him

Come now, League 2 is the best league in existence. Messi at his best would struggle to penetrate the Gilingham backline, you should feel lucky we're not already relegated such is the quality.

He's won all those trophies but he's never scored at Priestfield.

Makes you think.
