Debate over, I’ve zoomed it in and you can clearly see it hits his hand, penalty all day long.

I’m not sure he’s ever really seen it that way, unfortunately.
The word I was looking for was custodian and not caretaker, but I couldn't remember it when I posted my comment and wanted to watch the Festival of Remembrance on the telly. My problem is that I now view Dale Vince as a parasite and I'm really worried what will happen to his host (ie: our club) when he has finished with it.

Whereas you were a decent long serving member of the conference until he came along (correct me if inaccurate, apologies if so) if he were to go where would you see yourself naturally/sustainability wise - if you then returned to the status quo for instance?

(don’t perceive the above as a go, more a genuine question)

You are correct and for much of it we were in a bit of a struggle, after he appeared on the scene we went into a period of stability and finished in tenth three seasons on the trot, then under his guidance ambition rather than survival became the order of the day.

I really don't know where we would end up if Vince left, putting it simply. Unfortunately his type of management...where he seems to control virtually everything...doesn't lend itself to survival long term. I think it is within the realms of possibility that the club could cease to exist in its current form and re-emerge as a phoenix club. Even if that meant we ended up playing against the likes of Tuffley Rovers and Slimbridge at least it would mean we had our club back and the rebuild could start.

Just watched and also recorded the ITV highlights for the first time this season after Bradford fans on Twitter informed us that this was the biggest win in our history.

In all seriousness, the highlights show is a lot better than previous seasons. Just the goals and incidents, none of the analysis nonsense. Is it like this every week now or was this a one off?

The first few weeks were horrendous - focusing on one specific Championship game, interviewing just about everyone in the stadium. They’ve dialled that down a bit now, and also bumped the pointless charity feature to the end of the programme. Bit annoying that some old people doing chair exercises at Sixfields got more coverage than the entire League 2 highlights.

Well well well, we bin off Hurst & the very next league game play with attacking intent and win 3-2, who knew?

3-2 absolutely flattered Morecambe too, should’ve really had 5 or 6 although in true Grimsby style we nearly threw it away as their guy missed a great chance to level in injury time.

Notts fans absolutely love going on about why no-one else would have a penalty but them. There is probably a thread on their forum discussing how much Crewe had paid the ref.

That sounds like another slightly obsessed comment from English Red.

If there was a thread on our forum as you describe no doubt you or a fellow Wrexham fan would know, having already checked. :ohy:

Yesterday I was reading Daily Express while having my breakfast and read Dale Vince's name near middle of paper (page 31) where he had matched donations (total £90,000 - £45,000 from DV) made by readers to transform a nature reserve back to a wildlife haven.
Credit to the guy although his politics stink.

There are plenty of examples of businessmen investing in a football club as a vanity project. A few years ago fans thought he was different but seems not. FGRs demise seems imminent.

Obvious penalty too.

Notts, Notts are falling apart, again.

I hope so - not that I have anything against FGR it just means 1 less spot for us to finish above.

An excellent win for us yesterday and one of our sweetest in a long time. Not one of our players gave anything less than 100% yesterday. They were excellent and should be proud of that performance.

You could tell both sides were short of bodies and it certainly would've been a different game at full strength but to win that game with Williams, Nevitt, Long, Powell, Tabiner and Holicek all missing plus Tracey, Rowe and Demetriou playing with knocks and CBR and Thomas only just coming back to full fitness just shows what an incredible result that was.

We certainly had the better chances in the game. For all of Notts possession I dont think they did much at all in the final third and Davies rarely look troubled but did excellently when called upon. We certainly created the better opportunities, especially CBR missing that sitter in the first half then him and Tracey missing two decent chances at the same end. We also almost lobbed Slocombe (who I can't believe is still an EFL keeper after looking poor for Scunthorpe 11 years ago) just before the penalty too. Penalty was a clear as day handball and ref was entitled to stop play when his unfortunate injury happened.

You could tell Notts were missing key midfielders yesterday. I felt McGoldrick and Langstaff were isolated and they lacked creativity in the middle. McGoldrick ended up spending most the game dropping deep and operating in midfield which negated his obvious threat somewhat. But they play excellent football other than that, I'd certainly say after Stockport and Mansfield they were the best team I've seen this season and will finish Top 7 this season for sure. I dont think they'll go up this season but, if that's the case, they'll certainly be contenders next season.

Yesterday their main game was the thrilling 0-0 between QPR and Bristol City.

Yeah, seems a bit weird committing themselves to cover one game in such depth, because if it’s a stinker they still have to drag it out over the full programme. Do away with that bit and give the highlights 20 secs extra per match.

Other than his support for Starmer's Labour, his politics are largely pretty good

I have to say, when I saw what subs Stockport County brought on yesterday, it made me feel physically ill.

How can a League Two, that is already missing the likes of Stretton, Hippolyte and Rydel still name a strong starting XI AND bring on Knoyle, Camps, Madden, Touray and Nick freaking Powell.

If they don't win the league and break the 100 point barrier, I'll be shocked. Just a ridiculously good and deep team with quality in every position.

They are already away and gone, you can't fail with a squad that strong. Just a case of whether they do get those 100 points, that's the target for them now.

Indeed. Most of us can put out a half decent starting XI but after that squads are filled with miscreants, kids and footballing halfwits.

Judge for yourself. I think if that's at the other end, your lot are screaming for it.

As for the ref, he cannot let play go on. If the ball heads to opposite corner from the lino and a serious incident happens like a penalty shout, a red card or a potentially serious injury, the ref has to be in a position to get there quickly and make a judgement. If he's still hobbling 70 yards away, thats a serious problem. He has to stop the game.

As I said, I get the frustration that it came when you were on the counter attack. But I just don't think he can let the play carry on.
Like I said two weeks back, the most deluded fan base out there are Notts. Scary amount of them genuinely believe we were paying refs for penalties last season. Imagine fuming this much about a decision, that is 100% the right one, so that the police have to come onto the pitch. Read countless posts on here and twitter about the amount of time between the hand ball and decision given. It is like 2 seconds? hahaha Oh dear...

They did a good job of it on quest.

By and large ITV do sport really, really badly.

Like if a games on both the BBC and ITV like who actually watches it on ITV?

I genuinely can’t see any side finishing above them tbh, i mean if we win our game in hand we’re only 3 behind them but i’m focusing more on what 4th and 8th are doing tian what stockport are.
